What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00000 | $0.01272 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00000 | $0.00636 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00000 | $0.00254 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00127 |
Grade A, and why
thurbox-demo-media scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 81 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Thurbox demo videos and screenshots
Working reference extracted from CLAUDE.md, which indexes it. The rationale behind these decisions is owned by the docs under docs/; a change that invalidates what this says updates it in the same PR.
Demo Video
The VHS recordings are stale. Every clip a tape produces was recorded against v1 and shows panes the interface no longer has — code review, the file viewer, the tasks and automations panels. The tapes themselves drive v1 chords, so they need rewriting before re-recording is worth doing. Until then the website and README advertise an interface that is gone. This is the most visible inaccuracy left.
doom-easter-egg.mp4is the exception: it is not a tape, and it was re-recorded against v2 when Doom became a plugin (below).
The media is generated, not hand-recorded. One script drives the real TUI via
VHS (needs vhs + ffmpeg + ttyd +
tmux) and writes GIF and MP4 into media/:
scripts/demo/record.sh # regenerate ALL demo videos
scripts/demo/record.sh theme search # re-record a subset
One VHS tape each (scripts/demo/<feature>.tape); no args = all, otherwise tape
stems. Every clip uses real agent CLIs, one session per installed CLI, with
HOME overridden so agents boot with fresh history (keyring-authenticated CLIs stay
logged in but show no account email).
The scenario is a realistic one, not a UI tour. The repo is a vendored snapshot
of thurbox's own tree (a fixed file list copied into the throwaway HOME and git inited there — MIT, already local, so recordings stay hermetic and offline).
Sessions are named after the work, not the agent (fix-osc52-tmux,
add-wsl-host-tests, perf-session-order-cache, docs-remote-hooks), so the list
reads as one backlog with four branches in flight. The seeded tasks/automation and
the queries typed in the tapes are keyed to that same narrative, so editing one
means editing the others.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

thurbox-demo-media is a skill published in the GitHub repository Thurbeen/thurbox (60 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,272 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
