knowledge-research

knowledge-research is a skill for Codex from TIKAZI/TIKAZ-AI-Skills. It costs 47 tokens per session (432 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research workflow for collecting sources, organizing documents, retrieving relevant knowledge, and recording evidence for decisions or written findings.

In plain words
What is it for?
Academic research, product decisions, personal knowledge retrieval, and other work that needs dated sources, confidence notes, and a clear evidence trail.
Why use it?
It helps prevent unsupported claims, missed contradictory evidence, and research that cannot be reproduced later.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.00432
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00216
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00086
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

knowledge-research scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Knowledge and Research

Designed, integrated, refactored, and continuously maintained by TIKAZ.

Inputs and routing

Accept a research question or decision, time boundary, source material, required evidence threshold, and desired deliverable. Use one child owner directly when conversion, academic synthesis, personal memory, product strategy, or solo-business operations is the whole task.

TIKAZ method

  1. Define the question, decision, time boundary, source types, and evidence threshold.
  2. Convert source files with document-to-markdown only when needed; conversion is not verification.
  3. Choose one owner: academic-research, product-strategy, or solo-business-operations.
  4. Retrieve personal knowledge with personal-knowledge-memory before important reusable work, but treat it as candidate historical context.
  5. Build an evidence ledger with source, date, claim, support, contradiction, confidence, and relevance.
  6. Record knowledge adoption only when it changes execution; record success only with user or objective evidence.

Completion gate

Require a reproducible source trail, visible uncertainty, contrary evidence, no invented citations, a decision or synthesis matched to the original question, and a list of claims that need future revalidation.

Output, fallback, and limits

Return a source ledger, evidence-backed synthesis or decision, contrary evidence, confidence, and revalidation list. If source access or conversion fails, retain the unresolved item rather than filling the gap from memory. Retrieval is not adoption, conversion is not verification, and high-stakes conclusions may require professional review.

Example

Use knowledge-research to normalize these sources, compare the evidence and disagreement, and recommend a decision with confidence and revalidation needs.

Read references/routing.md and references/output-contract.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
