comments-analysis

A tool for collecting and interpreting comments on one social-media post or video, including their sentiment, themes, popular comments, questions, and complaints.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to summarize audience reactions, identify recurring questions or problems, find notable comments, and produce a sentiment breakdown for a specific post or video.
Why use it?
It condenses a potentially large comment section into the main viewpoints and issues, so you do not have to read every comment yourself.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00066 $0.00446
Opus 5 $0.00033 $0.00223
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00045

Measured 3d ago against content hash 0ba5a8945727, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

comments-analysis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Comments Analysis

Mine a single post's comment section for sentiment and themes.

Setup gate

[ -z "${TIKHUB_API_KEY:-}" ] && echo "Set TIKHUB_API_KEY first (see tikhub-onboarding)."

Workflow

  1. Identify the post (platform + id/URL).
  2. Fetch comments, paginating to a target count (cap it):
    • TikTok: app/v3/fetch_video_comments (aweme_id, cursor). Douyin: app/v3/fetch_video_comments (aweme_id, cursor).
    • Instagram: v2/fetch_post_comments (+ fetch_comment_replies).
    • YouTube: web_v2/get_video_comments (+ get_video_comment_replies).
    • Twitter: web/fetch_post_comments. Xiaohongshu: app_v2/get_note_comments.
  3. Optional fast keywords: TikTok analytics/fetch_comment_keywords (item_id) gives a comment keyword summary directly.
  4. Analyze: sentiment breakdown, top themes with example quotes, most-liked comments, and any recurring questions/complaints.
  5. Deliver a summary with cited example comments.

Cost awareness

Each comment page (and reply page) is a billed call. Cap pages; warn for viral posts with huge threads. Estimate via calculate_price.

Verification gate

  1. Comments fetched and tied to the right post.
  2. Themes/sentiment backed by quoted comments.
  3. Report the sample size (comments analyzed vs. total).

Red flags

  • Summarizing 50 comments on a 50k-comment post as representative — disclose the sample.
  • Unbounded reply pagination.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

comments-analysis is a skill published in the GitHub repository TikHub/tikhub-plugin (6 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 66 tokens to every session and 446 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
