What is drag-race-data?

A guide to adding or correcting the Drag Race knowledge-base JSON files used by the MCP server. JSON is a text format for structured data, and the guide covers seasons, queens, episodes, lore, IDs, and source-based research.

It helps contribute season packs, queen files, episode information, lore, coverage checklist entries, and other structured Drag Race data.

It reduces malformed data, broken links between records, and unsupported guesses in the knowledge base.

Link by IDs only — never nest full queen/season objects.

Source-first (do not invent)

Research public sources (Wikipedia season page, progress table, episode list; Fandom for songs/guests/minis when WP is thin).
Write JSON from the source — not from memory.
If an optional field is unclear, omit it. Do not guess prize amounts, song titles, mini winners, or guest judges.
Challenge/mini/lip-sync prizes use shared Money: { amount, currency, context, isSponsor?, isCharity? }. Always set context (prize as awarded). Use amount: 0 + isSponsor: true for non-cash sponsor prizes (trips, gift cards, products). Episodes own weekly earnings; mirror onto queen win rows.
Episodes own weekly outcomes. Queen challengeWins / miniChallengeWins / lipSyncWins / lipSyncLosses must mirror those episodeIds (lipSyncLosses = in lipSync.queenIds but not in winnerIds).
season.json cast/winnerIds/runner-up/Miss C/porkchopIds/episodeIds must match queen + episode files. Dual crowns use multiple winnerIds (e.g. AS-S04). porkchopIds is usually length 1; AS-S01 lists both team first-outs (mimi-imfurst, pandora-boxx).
Returning queens: append to the same queens/{id}.json appearances[] — do not duplicate files.

Lore

Put entries in the primary season’s lore.json.
Summaries stay factual and grounded in hard facts already in the pack.
Always set tags and link queenIds / seasonIds / episodeIds when relevant.
Cross-season stories still live under one primary folder; list every related season in seasonIds.
