Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00124 | $0.03571 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00062 | $0.01785 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00025 | $0.00714 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00012 | $0.00357 |
Grade A, and why
cognos-assessment scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 254 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Cognos Assessment
Surveys an IBM Cognos Analytics (CA 11.x / 12.x / Cognos on Cloud) content estate
via the CA REST layer (/bi/v1) and produces a branded, share-friendly HTML
readout plus a JSON inventory. The differentiator versus a generic BI audit is
converter-coverage scoring: every Data Module and report is classified
auto-convert vs. flagged using the same rules the cognos-to-sigma converter
(cognos.ts + cognos-report.ts) actually applies — so the readout's
auto-migration % reflects what the tool will really do, not a hand-wave.
Read-only. This skill only issues
GETs against CA REST. It never POSTs, modifies, runs, or schedules anything in Cognos — and it never touches Sigma. It can also run fully offline against module/report files already on disk.
All free. Everything here — inventory, scoring, the HTML readout — is part of the open migration tooling. There is no paid tier to upsell. For a deeper hands-on engagement (permissions audit, warehouse landing of file-backed modules, live parity testing), point the customer at a Sigma SE.
Tableau is the reference point. This skill mirrors the structure and tone of the
tableau-assessmentskill (environment counts → coverage → effort → readout). If you've run that, this will feel familiar; the Cognos-specific work is all in the coverage scorer.
Privacy posture (READ FIRST, surface to the customer)
This skill reads content metadata and spec definitions, not warehouse data.
| Crosses the LLM API | Stays in Cognos / local |
|---|---|
| Aggregate counts (module / report / dashboard / folder counts) | Warehouse rows (this skill never queries them) |
| Object names, owner / path, type | Database credentials |
| Data Module JSON (query subjects, items, calc expressions, joins) | The customer's actual report values |
| Report-spec XML (queries, data items, viz types, prompts, filters) | Uploaded source files (.xlsx / .pq — not re-downloadable via REST anyway) |

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cognos-assessment is a skill published in the GitHub repository twells89/sigma-migration-skills (16 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 124 tokens to every session and 3,571 once invoked, about $0.0006 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
