streamlit-assessment

streamlit-assessment is a skill for Claude Code from twells89/sigma-migration-skills. It costs 54 tokens per session (877 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of visualizing-change-over-time, MIT.

A read-only assessment tool for Streamlit projects, which are Python applications commonly used to build interactive data apps. It inventories the source and scores how ready each project is for migration to Sigma.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for counting pages, SQL loaders, controls, and data operations, then sorting Streamlit projects into direct-migration, redesign, or blocked candidates.
Why use it?
It shows what each app contains and flags complexity or security-sensitive patterns before migration work begins, without running or changing the app.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00054 $0.00877
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00351
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00175
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

streamlit-assessment scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/assess-streamlit.py, scripts/dup-dashboards.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Streamlit migration assessment (read-only)

This skill never executes application code, writes to the source, or posts to Sigma. It assesses exported/local source projects and hands selected targets to streamlit-to-sigma.

Read refs/migration-readout.md before presenting complexity, delivery, calendar, or Sigma-benefit claims.

Phase 0 — Intake

Accept one or more project directories or main Python files:

python3 scripts/assess-streamlit.py \
  /exports/app-one /exports/app-two \
  --out /tmp/streamlit-assessment.json \
  --markdown-out /tmp/streamlit-assessment.md \
  --html-out /tmp/streamlit-assessment.html

For Snowflake-hosted apps, export the source first. Do not request or inspect secret values.

Phase 1 — Inventory

The assessment reuses the converter's static analyzer and records:

  • source files and project metadata
  • pages and navigation shape
  • SQL query loaders and inferred output columns
  • controls and visible elements
  • wrapper/config/loop expansion
  • Pandas operations
  • session state, forms, callbacks, data editors, and custom components
  • security-sensitive patterns

No Streamlit process is started.

SHOW STREAMLITS, ownership, warehouse usage, and creation dates are inventory evidence only. They cannot establish code complexity or migration fit. If source has not been exported, label the app source-required and recommend source collection—not migration. Never present a metadata-only inventory as the migration assessment.

Phase 2 — Score and shortlist

Each project receives:

  • direct — supported surface with no restructuring/blocking gaps
  • redesign — plugin/state/layout redesign required
  • blocked — dynamic SQL, writeback, or another blocking gap
  • complexity.class — lite, medium, or complex
  • complexity.deliveryClass — Fast / easy, Engineer-led, or Multi-specialist
  • migrationDisposition plus migrationDispositions — spec-native, warehouse-backed, python-element-candidate, workbook-agent-candidate, manual-ui-finish, plugin, redesign, and/or blocked
  • resolvedPatterns and unresolvedGapCount — preserve source findings while keeping successfully lowered patterns out of readiness/complexity penalties
  • recommendation — explicit Migrate now, Migrate with redesign, Validate design, then migrate, or Resolve blockers, then migrate path
  • recommendation.technicalFitScore, wave, reason, nextAction, and blockers — explain rank and make the shortlist actionable

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
