assets

assets is a skill for Claude Code from twelvelabs-io/twelve-labs-claude-code-plugin. It costs 56 tokens per session (550 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for managing TwelveLabs assets, which are uploaded image or video files referenced by other analysis tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to upload an image or video from a file or URL, list assets, or delete an existing asset by its ID.
Why use it?
They clarify when to upload media for reuse and when another tool should handle a one-time upload automatically.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.00550
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.00275
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00110
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00055

Measured 9d ago against content hash 112f99cf2686, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

assets scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Manage Assets

Assets are uploaded media files (images or videos) referenced by ID in downstream tools. Image assets are used as reference images for entity search; video assets are used as input to async-analyze without prior indexing.

When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when the user:

  • Says "upload this image/video as an asset"
  • Wants to delete a specific asset by ID
  • Wants to pre-upload media before using /twelvelabs:entities or /twelvelabs:async-analyze

Do not use this skill when the user just says "analyze this video" — /twelvelabs:async-analyze handles asset upload internally for local files. Asset management is for explicit reuse.

Instructions

Step 1: Identify the Action

Determine from the user's message whether they want to:

  • Upload an image or video as an asset (path or URL)
  • Delete an existing asset by ID

Step 2: Upload

Detect input type:

  • URL: Starts with http:// or https://
  • Local file: Resolve to absolute path; verify exists

For URLs:

Tool: mcp__twelvelabs-mcp__create-asset
Parameters:
  url: "<url>"

For local files:

Tool: mcp__twelvelabs-mcp__create-asset
Parameters:
  file: "<absolute-path>"

Report the returned Asset ID and File Type. Suggest the next step:

  • Image asset → use with /twelvelabs:entities create-entity
  • Video asset → use with /twelvelabs:async-analyze

Step 3: Delete

Confirm with the user before deleting (the action is irreversible).

Tool: mcp__twelvelabs-mcp__delete-asset
Parameters:
  assetId: "<asset-id>"

If the API returns a conflict (asset is referenced by an indexed video), offer to retry with force=true.

Notes

  • The MCP tool infers asset type from file content; no explicit type parameter is needed.
  • Image formats supported: jpg, jpeg, png, webp.
  • Video formats supported: mp4, mov, avi, mkv, webm.
  • Assets persist until explicitly deleted.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
