chronology

chronology is a skill for Claude Code from uk-agents/uk-legal-plugins. It costs 78 tokens per session (5,137 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A tool for building a chronology, meaning a dated timeline of events, from litigation documents and other declared sources.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create or update a case timeline, record the sources for each event, and identify gaps in the available documents.
Why use it?
It extracts and combines events from multiple sources, removes duplicates, and highlights which events matter most to the case.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00078 $0.05137
Opus 5 $0.00039 $0.02568
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.01027
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00514

Security

Grade A, and why

chronology scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

  1. Load ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/litigation-legal-uk/matters/[slug]/matter.md → theory, pivot fact, key facts.
  2. Load ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/litigation-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md → Document storage sources, default matter folder pattern.
  3. Follow the workflow and reference below.
  4. Identify sources in order: user-provided paths this session, default matter folder, declared sources from ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/litigation-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md.
  5. For readable sources: extract dated events. For unreachable sources: note in Gaps.
  6. De-dupe, merge with sources list per event.
  7. Tag significance (🔴/🟡/⚪) per matter theory.
  8. Write ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/litigation-legal-uk/matters/[slug]/chronology.md (or format variant per flag).
  9. If prior version exists: version number increments, diff summary presented to user.
  10. Confirm before finalizing: "Here's what I built. Scan the 🔴 entries — anything I miscalled?"

Chronology

Disclosed-document use restrictions

Before working with a set of litigation documents, ask: "Were any of these documents obtained through disclosure in legal proceedings?" If yes:

  • England & Wales (CPR 31.22): Documents obtained through disclosure are subject to the implied undertaking — you may only use them for the purpose of the proceedings in which they were disclosed, unless the court grants permission, the disclosing party consents, or the document has been read in open court. Using them for a different matter, a different claim, or a commercial purpose without permission is a contempt.
  • Scotland: Equivalent undertaking principles apply under the Rules of the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court Rules. Confirm the applicable position with Scottish solicitors before working with produced documents in a different matter.
  • Other jurisdictions: Similar restrictions commonly apply. Check the local rule.

Confirm: "This use is within the proceedings in which the documents were disclosed, or I have permission / consent, or the documents are now public." If not confirmed, flag it: "⚠️ Disclosed documents may have use restrictions. Confirm this use is permitted before proceeding."

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
