use-case-triage is a skill for Claude Code from uk-agents/uk-legal-plugins. It costs 103 tokens per session (4,288 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An AI-use review workflow that classifies a proposed use as approved, conditional, or not approved under UK data-protection and sector rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess proposed AI projects, apply UK GDPR Article 22 checks, identify required conditions, and record follow-up actions or referrals.
Why use it?
It helps teams spot legal and regulatory concerns before putting an AI system into use, especially when it may make decisions about people.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00103 $0.04288
Opus 5 $0.00051 $0.02144
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00858
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00429

Security

Grade A, and why

use-case-triage scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/use-case-triage

  1. Read ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md. Confirm registry is populated — if not, stop and direct to setup.
  2. Use the framework below. Clarify the use case if vague.
  3. Registry lookup → red line check → classify.
  4. Apply UK GDPR Art. 22 check, ICO AI guidance flags, and sector-specific regulatory overlay.
  5. Output: classification, reasoning, conditions table (if conditional), governance tier, cross-plugin handoffs.
  6. Propose registry update if use case wasn't already in the registry.

Matter context

Matter context. Check ## Matter workspaces in the practice-level CLAUDE.md. If Enabled is (the default for in-house users), skip the rest of this paragraph — skills use practice-level context and the matter machinery is invisible. If enabled and there is no active matter, ask: "Which matter is this for? Run /ai-governance-legal-uk:matter-workspace switch <slug> or say practice-level." Load the active matter's matter.md for matter-specific context and overrides. Write outputs to the matter folder at ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/matters/<matter-slug>/. Never read another matter's files unless Cross-matter context is on.

Purpose

Stop the conversation that happens in a hallway and starts as "can we just use AI for this?" Give a fast, calibrated answer from the registry — and if the answer is conditional, make the conditions concrete and the next step obvious.

The triage skill is a gateway, not a destination. Its job is to classify, flag what's required, and route. The aia-generation skill does the deep work.

Before triaging, always read ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md. The use case registry and red lines there are authoritative. Generic AI ethics reasoning is not a substitute for what this company has actually decided.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
