vendor-ai-review

vendor-ai-review is a skill for Claude Code from uk-agents/uk-legal-plugins. It costs 87 tokens per session (4,144 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A review workflow for AI-related terms in vendor agreements, addenda, or terms of service, using specified UK governance positions. It checks topics such as data training, liability, model changes, and UK data transfers.

In plain words
What is it for?
For reviewing vendor AI clauses, checking confidentiality and use of data, assessing liability and incident duties, and comparing terms with UK governance positions.
Why use it?
It helps identify contract terms that may conflict with an organisation's AI policy or UK data-protection requirements. It also points out missing protections and possible redlines.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.04144
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.02072
Sonnet 5 $0.00017 $0.00829
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00414

Security

Grade A, and why

vendor-ai-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/vendor-ai-review

  1. Read ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md. Confirm vendor governance positions are populated — if not, stop and direct to setup.
  2. Use the framework below.
  3. Confirm document type (AI addendum / main agreement AI provisions / ToS). If only an AUP was provided, ask for the full terms.
  4. Term-by-term review: training on data, confidentiality of inputs, model changes, output IP, liability, incident notification, human review rights, use restrictions, audit rights.
  5. UK data transfer check: if vendor is based outside the UK, check for adequate UK GDPR international transfer mechanism (UK adequacy decisions, UK IDTA, or UK addendum to SCCs).
  6. AI addendum gap check if DPA/UK GDPR addendum exists but no AI addendum.
  7. AI policy consistency diff vs. ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/CLAUDE.md.
  8. Output: bottom line, term-by-term, recommended redlines, if-they-won't-move routing.

Matter context

Matter context. Check ## Matter workspaces in the practice-level CLAUDE.md. If Enabled is (the default for in-house users), skip the rest of this paragraph — skills use practice-level context and the matter machinery is invisible. If enabled and there is no active matter, ask: "Which matter is this for? Run /ai-governance-legal-uk:matter-workspace switch <slug> or say practice-level." Load the active matter's matter.md for matter-specific context and overrides. Write outputs to the matter folder at ~/.claude/plugins/config/uk-legal-plugins/ai-governance-legal-uk/matters/<matter-slug>/. Never read another matter's files unless Cross-matter context is on.

Purpose

Vendor AI terms are where your governance positions actually get tested. The cold-start interview captures what you want. This skill checks what you agreed to — and flags the gaps between those two things.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
