kmp-catchup

kmp-catchup is a skill for Claude Code from underpass-ai/kmp. It costs 66 tokens per session (315 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A memory tool for catching up on events recorded after a given time or previous point, including what happened today, yesterday, or during another period.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review changes since a timestamp, navigate stored memory, and collect a complete bounded interval of entries.
Why use it?
It helps an agent find only the relevant time range and account for updates or corrections to earlier information.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00066 $0.00315
Opus 5 $0.00033 $0.00158
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00063
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

kmp-catchup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

KMP catchup

Temporal intent has precedence over semantic Ask. Resolve relative dates in the user's timezone and navigate with kmp_forward, kmp_rewind, kmp_goto, or kmp_near; do not begin with kmp_ask. A catch-up enumerates a period. A semantic question that merely carries a date — why something was decided in March — is not a catch-up: it is one kmp_ask with that interval as interval, or the instant as as_of.

For a bounded interval, use half-open UTC bounds [start, end). kmp_forward is strictly after its cursor, so first use kmp_goto at start and retain only entries whose effective time equals the inclusive boundary. Then kmp_forward from start, continue every page while page.has_more, merge and deduplicate refs, and exclude entries at or after end. If a budget or selection cap prevents completion, report the exact continuation action instead of calling the partial result complete. Inspect relations that supersede, correct, or contradict earlier state.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
