What This Skill Does
Drafts a concise, production-ready briefing document that gives a presenter or on-screen moderator everything they need to walk into a shoot or live recording fully prepared.
When To Use This Skill
- A presenter, host, or moderator is joining your production and needs a single document they can read in under 20 minutes

What You Need To Provide
Required:
- Name and role of the presenter being briefed
- Programme or segment title and format (documentary, news package, panel discussion, YouTube series, etc.)
- Topic or story the presenter is covering
- Key facts, background context, or story beats you want them to know
- Names and roles of any contributors, interviewees, or panellists they will meet
Optional:
- Tone and register of the programme (serious investigative, warm and conversational, fast-paced, etc.)
- Questions or discussion threads the presenter should drive
- Topics or areas to avoid (legal sensitivities, off-limits subjects agreed with contributors)
- Logistical details (shoot location, schedule, crew contacts)
- Links or source documents to read further
How the Assistant Approaches This
- Opens with a one-paragraph "big picture" summary — the story, why it matters, and the presenter's role in it — so they have an immediate frame before reading the detail.
- Organises background information by topic in short, scannable sections with clear headers. Prioritises what the presenter needs to know to sound authoritative, not everything that exists on the subject.
- Profiles each contributor or interviewee in 3–5 lines: who they are, why they are in the programme, what they are likely to say, and any sensitivities to bear in mind.
- Lists suggested questions or discussion angles (if requested), framed the way a presenter would actually say them on camera rather than as a researcher's note-to-self.
- Closes with a short logistics section and a named production contact for day-of queries.
