cmail

cmail is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vaayne/agent-kit. It costs 138 tokens per session (1,355 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command-line skill for managing Cloud Mail domain email through a bundled Python program. It covers mailboxes, domain users, messages, and registration codes.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for inspecting, searching, sending, replying to, forwarding, or deleting domain email, and for managing mailboxes and domain accounts.
Why use it?
It provides a defined way to perform mail administration while keeping login details out of chat, command arguments, and reports.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00138 $0.01355
Opus 5.5 $0.00055 $0.00542
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00271
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00136

Security

Grade A, and why

cmail scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/cmail.py, scripts/test_cmail.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 136 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

CMail domain email

Use scripts/cmail.py for all Cloud Mail API calls. Replace <skill-dir> below with the absolute directory containing this SKILL.md; do not assume the user's current working directory is the repository.

Authentication

The runtime must provide:

CMAIL_HOST Cloud Mail server URL, for example https://mail.example.com
CMAIL_EMAIL Login email, normally an administrator for domain management
CMAIL_PASSWORD Login password
CMAIL_USER_AGENT Optional; defaults to curl/8.0.0 for Cloudflare compatibility
CMAIL_ALLOW_INSECURE_HTTP Optional; set to 1 only for a remote HTTP server

CMAIL_HOST may end in /api; the CLI normalizes it. Never ask the user to paste these secrets into chat, print them, put them in command arguments, or include them in a report. The CLI logs in with POST /api/login when no valid cached token is available and sends the returned token directly as Authorization; it does not use the deprecated public API or add a Bearer prefix. It sends a curl-compatible User-Agent by default because some Cloudflare deployments reject Python's default User-Agent; override it with CMAIL_USER_AGENT only when the reverse proxy requires a different value. Remote hosts must use HTTPS by default. HTTP is allowed for localhost and loopback IPs; set CMAIL_ALLOW_INSECURE_HTTP=1 only when the user explicitly accepts plaintext credential and token transport.

After a successful login, the CLI caches the token in ~/.cache/cmail/token.json with 0600 permissions. Set CMAIL_TOKEN_CACHE to use another path. The cache is scoped to the normalized host and login email; a 401/403 with a cached token invalidates it and causes one fresh login before retrying the request. If the server still returns 403, report the permission or server-side authentication failure rather than retrying.

Start with me when permissions or the account id are unclear:

python "$SCRIPT" me
python "$SCRIPT" account list

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cmail is a skill published in the GitHub repository vaayne/agent-kit (53 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 138 tokens to every session and 1,355 once invoked, about $0.0006 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-17.
