Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00116 | $0.02990 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00046 | $0.01196 |

Grade A, and why
tap scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Search the public web, read pages, and run site scripts for structured data.
Set SKILL to the absolute directory that contains this SKILL.md. Resolve the
directory from the skill loader or the installed skill path:
SKILL=/absolute/path/to/tap
bun $SKILL/scripts/tap.ts search "lightpanda browser release" --count 5 # sources for a topic
bun $SKILL/scripts/tap.ts fetch https://example.com/post # one page as Markdown
bun $SKILL/scripts/tap.ts site run github/repo repo=lightpanda-io/browser # a site's own records
Which command
Pick by what the answer looks like, not by which page you happen to know:
| You have / want | Use | You get |
|---|---|---|
| A topic, no URL yet | tap.ts search "<query>" |
Titles, URLs, snippets |
| A URL, and want what the page says (article, docs, README, blog post, JSON endpoint) | tap.ts fetch <url> |
Readable Markdown |
| A site named in the task and want its records: a tweet, a profile timeline, a repo's stats, a front page, a search or ranking on that site | tap.ts site run <site/name> ... |
JSON with fields |
A page whose fetch came back as a login wall or "enable JavaScript", and no script covers it |
tap.ts fetch <url> --render |
Rendered Markdown |
Rules of thumb:
fetchfirst for anything that is a document. A script is for a site that is an app (X/Twitter, Reddit, Bilibili, GitHub data, Hacker News), where the useful part is a list of items rather than prose.- Before
fetchon X/Twitter, Reddit, or Bilibili, runtap.ts site list: those pages return nothing useful to a fetch, and a script exists. - One command per attempt. When a fetch or script reports a login or block page, say so; do not chain every tier on the same URL.
- A version- or date-sensitive claim from a search snippet is a lead, not an answer: fetch the source page (or run the site script) before stating it.
What ships with it
15 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tap is a skill published in the GitHub repository vaayne/agent-kit (53 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 116 tokens to every session and 2,990 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-16.
