Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00099 | $0.01269 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00049 | $0.00634 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00020 | $0.00254 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00127 |
Grade A, and why
video-deep-understanding scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 158 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Video Deep Understanding
This skill gives the agent a video input. It can:
- download a remote video or use a local file
- pull native captions when available
- fall back to OpenAI transcription when needed
- extract frames for visual inspection
- search the transcript for named concepts before burning image tokens
- reuse a cached local copy of a previously downloaded URL on follow-up runs
Progressive disclosure
Read these only when needed:
references/quickstart.md— default workflow and key flagsreferences/troubleshooting.md— sharp edges, failure interpretation, and when to inspect scripts
Do not read bundled scripts by default. Inspect them only if setup/download/transcription fails repeatedly, output looks suspicious, or the user asks about internals.
Step 0 — silent preflight
On macOS/Linux use python3. On Windows use python instead.
Run:
python3 scripts/setup.py --check
If it exits 0, say nothing and continue.
If it exits non-zero:
2→ missing binaries; runpython3 scripts/setup.py3→ missing OpenAI key; run installer and ask the user for the key if they want transcription fallback4→ both missing; run installer, then ask for the key if needed
If you need more detail, use:
python3 scripts/setup.py --json

Default invocation rule
For long videos, UI demos, or concept-finding tasks, prefer a transcript-first pass:
python3 scripts/watch.py "$URL" --transcript-only --find 'keyword|other keyword'
Then zoom into the relevant section:
python3 scripts/watch.py "$URL" --start 4:32 --end 5:16 --resolution 1024 --contact-sheet
For short videos where the user wants a broad summary, a direct full scan is fine:
python3 scripts/watch.py "$URL"
If you already watched the same video in this session and still have the relevant transcript/frames in context, answer directly instead of re-running.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

video-deep-understanding is a skill published in the GitHub repository valtterimelkko/agent-workflow-skills (2 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 99 tokens to every session and 1,269 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
