a11y-automation

a11y-automation is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vanessamarely/ai-playbook-reposito. It costs 69 tokens per session (1,990 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for automated accessibility checks in React projects. It combines code linting with browser checks using axe-core, a program that detects common accessibility problems.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check React JavaScript or TypeScript files, run browser tests against an application, or set up accessibility testing when the project is not yet configured.
Why use it?
It finds accessibility violations automatically and reports their severity and possible code fixes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00069 $0.01990
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00995
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00398
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00199

Security

Grade A, and why

a11y-automation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/run-a11y-lint.sh, scripts/run-axe-playwright.mjs), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill: Accessibility Automation

Purpose

Run automated accessibility checks using linters and browser-based testing tools to identify WCAG violations.

Inputs

  • targetPath: Path to files or directory to check
  • checkType: lint, browser, or both

Outputs

  • Violation summary with counts by severity
  • Exit code (0 for pass, non-zero for failures)
  • Actionable remediation steps with code fixes

Procedures

1. Validate Target Path

Ensure the path exists and contains testable files.

For lint: Look for .tsx, .jsx, .ts, .js files. For browser: Look for test files or running application.

2. Run Linting Checks

Execute: .agents/skills/a11y-automation/scripts/run-a11y-lint.sh <targetPath>

This script:

  1. Checks if eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y is configured.
  2. Runs eslint on the target path.
  3. Outputs violations grouped by rule.

If linter is not configured, output setup instructions.

3. Run Browser-Based Checks (Optional)

If checkType is browser or both:

Execute: node .agents/skills/a11y-automation/scripts/run-axe-playwright.mjs <targetPath>

This script:

  1. Checks if Playwright and @axe-core/playwright are available.
  2. Runs axe checks on rendered components or pages.
  3. Outputs violations by severity.

If not configured, provide setup guidance.

4. Parse Results

Extract:

  • Total violation count
  • Violations by severity (critical, serious, moderate, minor)
  • Violations by rule (grouped)
  • File and line number for each violation

5. Summarize Findings

Output to chat:

  • Summary statistics (total violations, by severity, by rule)
  • Per-file breakdown with line numbers
  • Brief descriptions of each violation type

6. Propose Fixes

For critical and serious violations:

  • Show code snippet with issue
  • Provide corrected version
  • Reference applicable WCAG guideline
  • Apply fixes using minimal diffs

6. Output Remediation Steps

For each violation type, provide:

  • WCAG guideline reference (e.g., 2.4.7 Focus Visible)
  • Explanation of why it matters
  • Code example of correct implementation

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
