Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00109 | $0.01068 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00055 | $0.00534 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00022 | $0.00214 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00011 | $0.00107 |
Grade A, and why
chutes-mcp-portability scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 79 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Chutes MCP + Portability for Hermes
Status: read tools verified live 2026-04-13.
chutes-mcp-server --self-checkpassed and 7 read tools were exercised against a realcpk_. The remaining unexercised read tools (chutes_chat_complete,chutes_get_evidence,chutes_oauth_introspect) stay BETA; all write/deploy tools stay permanent BETA under the deploy-features policy.
When to use this skill
A Hermes user wants to:
- Make Chutes available to a non-Hermes client they also use (Cursor, Cline, Aider, Claude Desktop).
- Set up Hermes itself as an MCP client that talks to the Chutes MCP server.
- Regenerate
other-agents/hermes/config-examples/chutes-*.yamlfrom the current repo shape. - Write a paste-able system prompt block that tells a generic agent how to call Chutes.
Walkthrough (Hermes-facing)
Full walkthrough lives at plugins/chutes-ai/skills/chutes-mcp-portability/. Hermes users run:
# Install the MCP server
uv tool install chutes-mcp-server \
--from plugins/chutes-ai/skills/chutes-mcp-portability/mcp-server
# Generate configs for the targets you care about
python plugins/chutes-ai/skills/chutes-mcp-portability/scripts/generate_agent_config.py \
--target hermes,aider,system-prompt
# Health check
chutes-mcp-server --self-check
For Hermes specifically, the --target hermes path refreshes the YAML examples in other-agents/hermes/config-examples/ from templates that stay in sync with the current Chutes inference API shape. Run it again whenever this repo is updated.
Hermes can also connect to the MCP server directly:
hermes mcp add chutes --command chutes-mcp-server --env CHUTES_API_KEY=${CHUTES_API_KEY}
hermes mcp test chutes

- Read tools —
chutes_list_models,chutes_list_chutes,chutes_list_aliases,chutes_get_usage,chutes_get_quota,chutes_get_discounts,chutes_get_evidence,chutes_oauth_introspect,chutes_list_api_keys,chutes_chat_complete. - Write tools (permanent BETA) —
chutes_deploy_vllm,chutes_deploy_diffusion,chutes_teeify,chutes_set_alias,chutes_delete_alias,chutes_create_api_key. Each prepends[BETA]to its tool description so MCP clients display the label.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

chutes-mcp-portability is a skill published in the GitHub repository Veightor/chutes-agent-toolkit (5 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 109 tokens to every session and 1,068 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.

bittensor
Use when a developer asks what a Bittensor subnet does, whether it's up right now, how to call/integrate its API, or what mining/validating one costs and earns — e.g. "which subnet does image generation", "is subnet 7 healthy", "call the Beam API for me", "does mining subnet 3 need a GPU", "what does the median miner…

Resolve missing setup caused by a hardcoded Foundry project endpoint or model in a sample. Use when a sample fails because it uses a placeholder/hardcoded projectendpoint (for example "https://your-project.services.ai.azure.com") or a hardcoded model instead of reading them from the environment.
