brand-gen-logo

brand-gen-logo is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from velinussage/brand-gen. It costs 127 tokens per session (1,476 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A focused workflow for creating logos, wordmarks, lockups, icons, and other brand marks. It guides exploration toward clean, recognizable shapes that can work well as vector artwork.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to explore logo concepts, wordmarks, symbols, and logo lockups. It also supports repeated prompt-and-review cycles for refining a chosen mark.
Why use it?
Logo design has different needs from posters or other brand materials: the shape must stay clear at many sizes and uses. This workflow keeps the exploration focused and makes it easier to review and preserve promising ideas.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00127 $0.01476
Opus 5 $0.00063 $0.00738
Sonnet 5 $0.00025 $0.00295
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00148

Security

Grade A, and why

brand-gen-logo scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 156 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Pi / Sage full-pipeline prompt

For Sage brand work in Pi, use the paste-ready prompt at docs/prompts/pi-sage-brand-gen-full-pipeline.md. It routes Pi through the typed brand_* tools, the brand-orchestrator subagent, exact-text gates, v2/DSPy review, GEPA-ready disagreement fields, and typed mutation loops. Keep this link instead of copying the full prompt into skill bodies.

Use this instead of the main brand-gen skill when the artifact is primarily a logo, wordmark, or lockup. Logo work has different constraints than standard brand materials.

How logo work differs

  • Fewer refs, more silhouette discipline — logos need clean shape language, not reference-heavy compositions
  • Geometric prompt language — say "flat vertical rectangles" not "columns"
  • Tighter review loops — stop after each batch so the user chooses what equity to preserve
  • Fragment locking — prompt fragments that work can be locked for all future generations
  • Vector-friendly modelsrecraft-v4 and recraft-v4-svg are preferred over photo-realistic models

CLI and MCP tools

Logo has its own CLI and MCP server, separate from bgen:

  • CLI: bgen <command> [opts]
  • MCP tools: logo_generate, logo_feedback, logo_show, logo_compare, logo_evolve, logo_bootstrap, logo_inspire

Core workflow

1. Bootstrap (first use only)

bgen bootstrap

MCP: logo_bootstrap() — scans existing logo files into the manifest.

2. Gather inspiration

bgen inspire symbol # browse logosystem.co by category
bgen inspire --url <url> # custom inspiration URL
bgen inspire symbol --list # list saved inspiration

MCP: logo_inspire(category="symbol") or logo_inspire(url="<url>")

Categories: symbol, wordmark, symbol-text, brown, beige, black, all.

3. Choose a mode

  • reference — preserve recognizable structure from existing mark
  • inspiration — net-new exploration, no structural constraints
  • hybrid — preserve core equity while translating approved inspiration mechanics

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
