debug

debug is a skill for Claude Code from Venkateshwar-Reddy-Jambula/razorpay-integration-plugin. It costs 59 tokens per session (2,944 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A troubleshooting guide for Razorpay payment integrations, covering webhook delivery, signature checks, subscription states, and SDK behavior. A webhook is an HTTP notification sent by Razorpay to your app when an event occurs.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to diagnose missing webhooks, failed payment verification, signature mismatches, and subscription or checkout problems.
Why use it?
It helps identify issues such as incorrect webhook URLs, slow responses, wrong secrets, or changing the request body before checking its signature.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.02944
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.01472
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00589
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00294

Security

Grade A, and why

debug scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Razorpay Debugging Guide

Common issues and their solutions, organized by symptom.

Webhook Not Firing

Check these in order:

  1. Webhook URL registered: Dashboard → Settings → Webhooks → Verify URL is correct
  2. HTTPS required: Razorpay won't call HTTP endpoints (except localhost in test mode)
  3. Events enabled: Check which events are checked in webhook settings
  4. Response timeout: Razorpay expects 2xx within 5 seconds. If your handler takes longer, it times out and retries.
  5. Check webhook logs: Dashboard → Settings → Webhooks → Click on webhook → View delivery attempts

Test locally with ngrok:

ngrok http 3000
# Copy the https URL → Register as webhook URL in Razorpay Dashboard

Signature Verification Failing

Most common causes:

  1. Using wrong secret: Webhook signature uses RAZORPAY_WEBHOOK_SECRET. Payment verification uses RAZORPAY_KEY_SECRET. They are DIFFERENT values.

  2. Parsing body as JSON first: Signature is computed on the RAW string body. If you parse to JSON and re-stringify, whitespace changes break the signature.

    // WRONG
    const body = await request.json();
    const raw = JSON.stringify(body); // May differ from original!

    // CORRECT
    const raw = await request.text();
    const body = JSON.parse(raw);

  3. Invoice signature format wrong: Order flow and invoice flow have different signature payloads:

    Order:   HMAC(secret, "order_id|payment_id")
    Invoice: HMAC(secret, "invoice_id|receipt|status|payment_id")

  4. Optional fields undefined: Invoice receipt and status may be undefined. Use ?? "":

    const payload = `${invoiceId}|${receipt ?? ""}|${status ?? ""}|${paymentId}`;

Duplicate Webhook Events

Symptom: Same subscription activated twice, duplicate GST invoices, double access grants.

Root cause: Razorpay uses at-least-once delivery. If your handler doesn't return 200 within 5 seconds, it retries.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

debug is a skill published in the GitHub repository Venkateshwar-Reddy-Jambula/razorpay-integration-plugin (6 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 59 tokens to every session and 2,944 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
