init-wiki

init-wiki is a skill for Claude Code from vipzhengmingming/oh-my-powers. It costs 55 tokens per session (478 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A setup workflow for creating an LLM-maintained wiki, a project knowledge base stored as source files and generated Markdown pages.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to initialize the wiki folders, index, activity log, and project instructions, with a chosen path or the default ./llm-wiki/ path.
Why use it?
It creates the expected folders and tracking files so later wiki imports and maintenance have a consistent place to work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00055 $0.00478
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.00239
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

init-wiki scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Init Wiki

Initialize a new LLM-maintained wiki in the current project following the LLM Wiki pattern.

Reference: references/llm-wiki.md for the full architectural rules.

Steps

  1. Read references/llm-wiki.md to understand the three-layer architecture (raw sources → wiki pages → schema) and directory conventions.

  2. Ask user for the wiki directory path. Default to ./llm-wiki/ if not specified.

  3. Create the following directory structure under the chosen path:

    • sources/ — for original/immutable source documents
    • pages/ — for LLM-generated wiki pages
  4. Create index.md with the following skeleton:

    • A top heading "# Wiki Index"
    • Section headers per category (initially empty, to be populated on ingest)
    • A note that this index is maintained by the LLM on every add-to-wiki operation
  5. Create log.md with the initial entry:

    ## [YYYY-MM-DD] init | Created wiki at <path>

Use the actual current date in ISO format.

  6. Ensure ./CLAUDE.md has wiki reference rules:

    • If ./CLAUDE.md does not exist, create it with:
      ## Knowledge Base

This project has an LLM-maintained wiki at `./llm-wiki/`.
When working on features, first check `./llm-wiki/index.md`
for relevant context. Read linked pages as needed.

    • If ./CLAUDE.md already exists, check if it already has a "Knowledge Base" section. If not, append the same block at the end.
  7. Confirm to the user what was created, showing the full directory tree. Tell them they can now use /create-llm-wiki:add-to-wiki to add content.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

init-wiki is a skill published in the GitHub repository vipzhengmingming/oh-my-powers (5 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 55 tokens to every session and 478 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
