app-store-toolkit:pull

app-store-toolkit:pull is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vishalvshekkar/app-store-toolkit. It costs 33 tokens per session (1,578 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool that copies an app’s listing information from App Store Connect, Apple’s app publishing service, into local project files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to download app listing text, privacy and review data, version information, and localized URLs for editing or auditing.
Why use it?
It keeps local metadata aligned with what is already online and avoids copying names, descriptions, keywords, privacy details, and review information by hand.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00033 $0.01578
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00789
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00316
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00158

Measured 4d ago against content hash 4e83629ad950, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

app-store-toolkit:pull scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/app-store-toolkit:pull

You are pulling metadata from App Store Connect into the local .appstore/ store.

Steps

1. Load Configuration

Call store_read_config to get app_id, configured locales, and platforms.

If no config exists, tell the user to run /app-store-toolkit:setup first. If no app_id is set, first resolve it:

  • Call asc_get_app with the configured bundle_id
  • Save the returned app_id to config with store_write_config

2. Pull App-Level Info (name, subtitle)

For each configured locale (or the specified locale):

  1. Call asc_get_app_info with the app_id and locale filter
  2. For each returned localization, save name and subtitle using store_write_metadata with:
    • source: "pulled_from_asc"
    • context: "Pulled from App Store Connect"

3. Pull Version-Level Data (description, keywords, promo, what's new)

For each configured platform (or the specified platform):

  1. Call asc_get_version to get the latest version
  2. Call asc_get_version_localizations with the version ID
  3. For each locale, save:
    • description → store_write_metadata with field "description"
    • keywords → store_write_metadata with field "keywords" (saved at app-level in our store)
    • promotionalText → store_write_metadata with field "promotional_text"
    • whatsNew → store_write_metadata with field "release_notes" (use the version string)

Use source: "pulled_from_asc" for all.

4. Pull IAPs (if any)

  1. Call asc_get_iaps with the app_id
  2. For each IAP, call asc_get_iap_localizations
  3. Save display_name and description for each locale

5. Report Results

Show a summary of what was pulled:

Pulled from App Store Connect:
═══════════════════════════════
Locales: en-US, ja, de-DE
Platform: IOS (v2.1.0)

  en-US:
    name: "My App" (14 chars)
subtitle: "Do cool things" (14 chars)
    keywords: "productivity,tasks..." (87 chars)
    description: 2341 chars
    promotional_text: 42 chars
    release_notes (v2.1.0): 847 chars

  ja:

IAPs pulled: 2 (premium_monthly, premium_yearly)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
