app-store-toolkit:push

app-store-toolkit:push is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vishalvshekkar/app-store-toolkit. It costs 46 tokens per session (1,796 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A publishing guide for sending local app-store metadata and review information to Apple App Store Connect. App Store Connect is Apple’s website for managing app listings, privacy details, reviews, and releases.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to publish names, subtitles, descriptions, release notes, privacy responses, review details, and locale-specific URLs. It requires an existing app configuration and valid field lengths.
Why use it?
It checks the local content and shows the changes before modifying the live store listing. It also records each push in a history file.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.01796
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00898
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00359
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00180

Measured 5d ago against content hash 956114225b54, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

app-store-toolkit:push scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/app-store-toolkit:push

You are pushing local metadata to App Store Connect. This modifies live App Store data.

Steps

1. Load Configuration

Call store_read_config to get app_id, locales, and platforms.

If no config or no app_id, tell the user to run /app-store-toolkit:setup or /app-store-toolkit:pull first.

2. Validate Before Push

Call store_validate to check all fields against character limits.

If ANY field exceeds its limit, stop and warn the user. Do not push invalid data. Suggest running /app-store-toolkit:validate and fixing issues first.

3. Compute Changes

For each locale and platform, compare local latest content with what's currently on App Store Connect:

  1. Call asc_get_app_info for app-level fields (name, subtitle)
  2. Call asc_get_version then asc_get_version_localizations for version-level fields
  3. Compare each field's local latest content with the remote value
  4. Build a list of changes (fields where local != remote)

If $ARGUMENTS includes a specific locale or field filter, only include those.

4. Preview Changes

Unless $ARGUMENTS includes "force", show a preview table:

Changes to push to App Store Connect:
═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Field | Locale | Platform | Change
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
name | en-US | — | "Old Name" → "New Name"
description | en-US | ios | Updated (2341 → 2567 chars)
keywords | en-US | — | Updated (87 → 95 chars)
promotional_text | ja | ios | New (was empty)
═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Total: 4 changes across 2 locales

Ask the user to confirm before proceeding. This is a critical step — pushing updates live App Store data.

5. Push Changes

For each change:

App-level fields (name, subtitle):

  • Use asc_update_app_info with the localization ID and new values

Version-level fields (description, keywords, promo, what's new):

  • Use asc_update_version_localization with the localization ID and new values

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
