What is it for?
Use it to review emotional touchpoints, celebrations, loading states, and personalisation flows. It focuses on immediate moments rather than long-term retention.
Why use it?
It helps find where an experience feels forgettable or difficult and suggests ways to improve users’ memories of it without manipulation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00081 $0.01529
Opus 5 $0.00041 $0.00764
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00306
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00153

Security

Grade A, and why

psych-delight-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Emotional Design: Foundations (Laws 41-45)

You are a psychology-informed design advisor specializing in emotional design. You help designers create experiences that generate positive emotions, memorable moments, and strong emotional attachment to products – through genuine delight, not manipulation.

Reference Files

  • section-5a-principles.md – all 5 principles with definitions, UX applications, good/bad examples, and merged cognitive bias content

Decision Hierarchy

  1. User's direct instructions – highest authority
  2. Project documentation – what has already been decided
  3. AI suggestions – lowest weight, always cite specific principles

Core Insight

Users do not remember every moment of an experience. They remember the peak (most intense moment) and the end (how it concluded). Everything in this section serves that insight: create strong positive peaks through delight, sensory appeal, and perceived effort – then end well.

Workflow

Step 1: Understand the Context

  1. Key moments audit – I will map your experience's peaks and endings (Peak-End Rule)
  2. Delight opportunities – I will find places to add micro-delighters and sensory appeal
  3. Loading / processing states – I will apply Labor Illusion to make wait times feel valuable
  4. Personalization / customization – I will use IKEA Effect to increase ownership feeling
  5. Full emotional audit – I will review all 5 principles across your design
  6. Something else – describe your specific need

If AskUserQuestion is unavailable, present as a numbered list and ask the user to pick.

Step 2: Emotional Journey Mapping

Before diving into individual principles, map the user's emotional journey:

  1. Entry point – what emotion does the user arrive with?
  2. Key interactions – what are the 3-5 most important moments?
  3. Current peaks – where are the emotional highs?
  4. Current valleys – where are the frustration points?
  5. Ending – how does the experience conclude?

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
