electronics-lab

electronics-lab is a skill for Claude Code from w1ne/labwired-core. It costs 31 tokens per session (184 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An electronics design and testing skill for creating circuits, choosing supported microcontrollers, simulating firmware, and laying out circuit boards. It uses LabWired tools and checks whether the requested parts and behavior are modeled.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to wire circuits, run embedded firmware against a modeled circuit, verify outputs such as serial messages or pin changes, and prepare PCB layouts with design-rule checks.
Why use it?
It helps test circuit behavior and firmware results before relying on physical hardware. It also separates simulation and board-rule checks from claims about real-world safety or manufacturing quality.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: shipped in a Claude Code plugin.

Part of the labwired plugin — 1 skill, 1 MCP server shipped together

Good fit Use it to wire circuits, run embedded firmware against a modeled circuit, verify outputs such as serial messages or pin changes, and prepare PCB layouts with design-rule checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00184
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00074
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00037
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00018

Security

Grade A, and why

electronics-lab scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Use the hosted LabWired tools for the hardware task the user asked for. Check the board, component and pin identifiers in the catalog before wiring them. If a required component or physical behavior is not modeled, say which part of the task cannot be tested.

For firmware, agree on an observable result such as a serial message, output pin change or displayed value. Compile and run the firmware against the modeled circuit. Report a verified result only when the simulation assertion passes; include the observed value or run evidence when available.

For a PCB, distinguish schematic checks, routing completion and independent KiCad design-rule results. Report the checks actually performed. A passing model or board-rule check does not establish physical performance, fabrication quality or hardware safety.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

electronics-lab is a skill published in the GitHub repository w1ne/labwired-core (89 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 184 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-05.
