Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00034 | $0.02993 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00014 | $0.01197 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00599 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00003 | $0.00299 |
Grade A, and why
session-handoff scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 289 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Session Handoff
Carry the task across a context boundary through project files. Preserve the actual objective, useful evidence, and concrete next move so a fresh session can continue without reconstructing the entire conversation or repeating completed work. This skill works with Codex and Claude Code; it needs ordinary file tools and the project's existing tools, not a background service.
A fresh session starts with new conversational context and reads the handoff from disk. Resuming an existing session restores that session's history and may retain its accumulated context. These are different operations. Preparing a handoff does not open either kind of session or transfer host-managed state.
Use prepare when the user asks to save a handoff, prepare for a new session, or preserve the task before a context reset. Use continue when a new session is asked to pick up an existing handoff. Infer the mode from the request; a routine status question does not itself call for a new handoff document.
Preserve the working agreement
Read the project's applicable AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md and the user's latest
instructions before changing its recovery documents. The original goal and
acceptance criteria remain in force. Carry forward subsequent corrections,
scope changes, and explicit permissions with enough precision that the next
session will act on the current agreement.
Separate instructions from observations. A user correction controls what to do; a result file establishes what happened. An older handoff is a navigation aid, not authority to disregard either. Where the conversation contains a necessary decision that has never reached disk, record it now with its practical effect. Do not invent a quote or imply that a remembered decision was independently verified.
Keep the project in its established language and document format. The examples below show useful content, not a mandatory new schema. A short code change may need a few paragraphs; a research task may need a fuller explanation of its remaining mathematical obligation and failed approaches.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

session-handoff is a skill published in the GitHub repository wanshuiyin/HERO-Anti-OverDefense (786 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 2,993 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-03.
