ontology-atlas: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/design-council/SKILL.md

design-council is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from wlsdks/ontology-atlas. It costs 33 tokens per session (1,566 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A review process that gathers the design specialists relevant to a substantial visual, layout, interaction, motion, data-display, responsive, or handoff change.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to critique built interface changes, select the right reviewers, resolve design disagreements, and record whether the change is ready to ship.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of shipping a screen that looks acceptable but has problems with usability, accessibility, responsiveness, motion, or agent handoff. One accountable reviewer applies the decision and checks the result again.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.01566
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00783
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00313
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00157

Security

Grade A, and why

design-council scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Design Council — selected seats, one accountable applier

Run only when pnpm design:route returns council.required=true. Local visual work, spacing/layout repairs, responsive fixes, interaction-state fixes, motion tuning, topology gesture work, and copy do not acquire a council merely because they are UI.

The council reviews one built direction and its proof packet. Run /design-directions first only when the route says directions=yes.

Roster

Agent Seat Atlas ownership
design-lead Lead Product Designer primary Atlas fact/action and attention
design-system Design Systems Engineer tokens, primitives, markers, and gates
design-interaction Interaction Designer inspect, correct, confirm, reverse, keyboard
design-motion Motion / Action Designer temporal meaning and reduced motion
design-infoviz Information Visualization Designer topology mark → typed fact
design-workbench macOS Workbench Designer installed window and WKWebView
design-responsive Responsive & Touch Designer measured bands, input mode, safe area
design-handoff Agent Handoff Designer state-bound MCP and CLI continuation

No seat always attends. Use exactly the seats returned by the router; structural routes derive at least two contrasting seats. design-guardian is not a seat. It is the accountable decider and applier.

Seat briefs live at ../../agents/design-*.md. The path resolves inside each mirrored tool tree. Open the selected briefs explicitly and never create a third copy.

Required evidence

Before a position can approve, provide:

  • the exact PO outcome and selected design direction, when any;
  • the built route/app state and commit;
  • the router's change facts, seats, and proof packet;
  • the computer-use render-loop packet: baseline, material checkpoints, final accessibility tree and screenshot for every rendered state in scope;
  • measured rect/style, responsive, graph, performance, journey, or installed-app output only when the route selected it;
  • a real macOS recording and /motion-verify result whenever motion is in the route.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

design-council is a skill published in the GitHub repository wlsdks/ontology-atlas (104 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 1,566 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
