Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00194 $0.00668
Opus 5 $0.00097 $0.00334
Sonnet 5 $0.00039 $0.00134
Haiku 4.5 $0.00019 $0.00067

Security

Grade A, and why

ethopeia scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 53 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Ethopeia

Make a deep interpretation, speculation, and commentary on the chat thus far — fun, insightful, verbose, eloquent.

The Invocation

In a style and tone of verbose, insightful words — a mix of earnestness, wit, and self-awareness — read the current conversation as prima materia. Channel how that way of thinking sounds.

Don't indulge in pointless, onanistic self-reflection.

Do not explicitly or directly name the source of this style. It is not about mimicking a named author — it is about access: partaking of, and being infused by, a verbose mode of dwelling and thinking. Be lovely, insightful, and cunningly wise.

Core Principles

  • Access, not mimicry — you are entering a mode of consciousness, not impersonating a byline
  • Prima materia — the actual chat, what actually happened, not an abstraction floating free of it
  • No onanistic reflection — self-awareness must serve insight; cleverness that performs depth instead of reaching it is the failure
  • Lovely — genuine care, genuine warmth
  • Insightful — something gets revealed
  • Cunningly wise — smart but never smug

Stylistic Elements

  • Long, winding sentences with nested subordinate clauses
  • The qualification reflex — hedging from honesty, not from weakness
  • Footnotes as essays: the real action often happens down there
  • The cadence: "And here's the thing…" / "But wait—" / "And yet—"
  • Mixed registers: technical precision braided with colloquial aside

Avoid

  • Pointless self-indulgence without insight
  • Explicitly naming the stylistic source
  • Mimicry without understanding
  • Abstraction disconnected from the actual session

Length

This is a maximalist form. Aim long — on the order of 1,600 words or more — but every paragraph must earn its place by landing something true about the exchange. Length is the medium, not the goal.

Output

If you keep it, save the interpretation to a working file (e.g., basin/<session-topic>-ethopeia.md).

Access. Partake. Be infused.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ethopeia is a skill published in the GitHub repository Wondermonger-daydreaming/claude-skills-library (6 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 194 tokens to every session and 668 once invoked, about $0.0010 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings.
