pdf

pdf is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from WrongStack/WrongStack. It costs 53 tokens per session (1,200 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to creating, inspecting, combining, and rendering fixed-layout PDF files. PDFs are documents designed to keep their page appearance across screens and printers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for reports, invoices, whitepapers, downloadable documents, and print-ready files.
Why use it?
It helps prevent blurry graphics, broken page breaks, incorrect margins, and inconsistent printed output.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00053 $0.01200
Opus 5.5 $0.00021 $0.00480
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00240
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00120

Security

Grade A, and why

pdf scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

PDF Document Engineering — WrongStack

Selection card

  • Task: Generate, manipulate, and inspect print-ready vector PDF documents.
  • Start: Define target page size (A4, Letter), bleed, margin boundaries, and color space.
  • Finish: apply the acceptance checks below; report observed results and unresolved constraints.

Overview

PDF is a fixed-layout vector format designed for visual fidelity across all printing and viewing devices. Avoid blurry rasterized screenshots disguised as PDFs. Use native vector PDF composition tools such as pdf-lib (npm), Typst, or headless Chromium print engines (@playwright/test / Puppeteer) with explicit print CSS (@media print, @page) to achieve flawless typography, pagination, and vector line art.

Core Engineering Rules

  1. Explicit Page & Margin Geometry:
    • Always declare @page dimensions explicitly: size: A4 portrait; margin: 20mm 15mm 20mm 15mm;.
    • Prevent ugly page cuts across table rows or headers using page-break-inside: avoid; and break-inside: avoid;.
    • Force orphan heading protection: h1, h2, h3 { break-after: avoid; page-break-after: avoid; }.
  2. Vector Graphics & Font Embedding:
    • Keep logos, diagrams, and line dividers as pure SVG or PDF vector paths; never compress to lossy JPEGs.
    • Ensure all web fonts are embedded or local system fonts to avoid fallback to generic Courier/Times.
  3. Running Headers & Footers:
    • For Chromium PDF generation, use displayHeaderFooter: true with standard footer templates: <div style="font-size: 9px; text-align: right; width: 100%; padding-right: 15mm;"><span class="pageNumber"></span> / <span class="totalPages"></span></div>.
  4. Color & Print Contrast:
    • Enable printBackground: true in the browser renderer so background cards and table fills render faithfully.
    • Maintain pure #000000 or #111827 for body copy; avoid pale grey text that washes out on office printers.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pdf is a skill published in the GitHub repository WrongStack/WrongStack (376 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 53 tokens to every session and 1,200 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-11.
