agents: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/docs-steward/SKILL.md

docs-steward is a skill for Claude Code from wyattowalsh/agents. It costs 59 tokens per session (3,374 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for maintaining an Astro and Starlight documentation site that publishes pages for skills, agents, and MCP servers. MCP servers are tools that let software exchange structured requests and results.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after changing skills, agent definitions, MCP server files, or installing new skills, so the documentation can be regenerated and verified.
Why use it?
It keeps generated documentation synchronized with repository changes and checks that the site still builds and meets content-quality requirements.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: argument-hint in frontmatter. Also seen: model in frontmatter; reads .claude/ paths; mentions subagents.

This is wyattowalsh/agents's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on agents itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything agents configures →

Part of the agents plugin — 71 skills, 20 agents, 5 hooks shipped together

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.03374
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.01687
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00675
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00337

Measured 6d ago against content hash d378f3d5b070, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

docs-steward scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/health-check.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Docs Steward

Maintain, enhance, and improve the docs site at agents.w4w.dev. The site uses Astro + Starlight + starlight-theme-black. The wagents CLI generates MDX content pages from repository assets (skills, agents, MCP servers). This skill wraps that CLI and extends it with AI-powered enhancement, health checks, and site improvement capabilities.

When to Invoke

Invoke this skill after any of these events:

  • Creating or modifying any skills/*/SKILL.md
  • Creating or modifying any agents/*.md
  • Creating or modifying any mcp/*/server.py or mcp/*/pyproject.toml
  • Running wagents new skill, wagents new agent, or wagents new mcp
  • Installing new skills via npx skills add

Auto-invocation is enabled by default (the disable-model-invocation field is absent, which defaults to false).

When invoked after asset changes, run in auto mode (default). No approval gates, no user prompts. Detect what changed, regenerate, enhance, verify.

Scope

In scope: Documentation site generation, MDX page enhancement, build verification, health checks, site configuration improvements, generation pipeline improvements, Astro component creation, CSS design system updates.

NOT for: Writing new skills (/skill-creator), creating agents (wagents new agent), building MCP servers (/mcp-creator), editing source SKILL.md or agent.md content, or managing the README (wagents readme).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
