btse-market-analysis

btse-market-analysis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from xbotlive/btse-mcp. It costs 25 tokens per session (739 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only toolkit for viewing BTSE market data, including prices, order books, funding rates, candles, trades, and market snapshots. BTSE is a cryptocurrency exchange, and an order book shows current buy and sell offers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check cryptocurrency prices, spreads, recent trades, OHLCV price candles, order-book depth, funding history, or a combined market snapshot.
Why use it?
It lets you inspect market conditions without giving the tools permission to place trades.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00025 $0.00739
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00369
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00148
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00074

Security

Grade A, and why

btse-market-analysis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

BTSE Market Analysis

All tools in this skill are read-only and safe to call freely. They do not require trading permissions on the API key.

Preferred: Use the Composite Tool

For most market questions, use one call instead of three:

btse_market_snapshot(
  symbol="BTC-PERP",
  orderbook_depth=5,    # levels per side, default 5
  funding_count=5       # past funding periods, default 5
)

Returns price, orderbook, and funding history in a single response.

Price Data

btse_get_price(symbol="BTC-PERP")

Returns: lastPrice, markPrice, indexPrice for the symbol. Omit symbol to get prices for all markets.

Use the market_overview prompt for a formatted summary with 24h change, spread, and funding trend.

Orderbook

btse_get_orderbook(symbol="BTC-PERP", depth=10)

Returns L2 orderbook — bids and asks at each price level. depth is levels per side (default: all available).

Spread calculation:

  • Best ask − best bid = spread in USD
  • Spread / mid-price × 100 = spread in %

Recent Trades

btse_get_trades(symbol="BTC-PERP", count=20)

Returns the last N public trade fills. Max count is typically 500.

OHLCV Candles

btse_get_ohlcv(
  symbol="BTC-PERP",
  resolution="60", # candle size in minutes
  start=1700000000000,  # optional, milliseconds
  end=1700086400000     # optional, milliseconds
)

Valid resolutions (minutes): 1 | 5 | 15 | 30 | 60 | 240 | 360 | 1440 | 10080 | 43200

Funding Rates

btse_get_funding_history(symbol="BTC-PERP", count=10)

Returns historical funding rates. Omit symbol for all markets.

Reading funding:

  • Positive rate → longs pay shorts (market is long-heavy)
  • Negative rate → shorts pay longs (market is short-heavy)
  • Rate paid every 8 hours on perpetuals

Market Summary

btse_get_market_summary(symbol="BTC-PERP")

Returns full contract details: open interest, 24h volume, price change, contract size, funding rate. Omit symbol to get all markets.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
