gpu-monitor

gpu-monitor is a skill for Codex from Xiangyue-Zhang/auto-deep-researcher-24x7. It costs 13 tokens per session (345 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A checker for NVIDIA graphics processors, or GPUs, and machine-learning experiments using them. It reports memory use, activity, temperature, processes, and which GPUs are free.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect local or remote GPU servers, identify active training jobs, find free GPUs, and review memory, utilization, and temperature.
Why use it?
It makes it easier to find available hardware and see whether a running experiment is using resources normally.

About the project

Auto Deep Researcher 24x7 is an autonomous AI agent that runs and monitors deep learning experiments continuously. Researchers use it to automate experiment execution, including hyperparameter tuning and GPU or Slurm-based workloads. The catalogue add-ons provide agents, skills, and instructions for operating the experiment workflow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00013 $0.00345
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00172
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

gpu-monitor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

gpu-monitor

Quick GPU status check for experiment management.

Usage

Claude Code: /gpu-monitor
Claude Code: /gpu-monitor --server user@remote-host
Codex: $gpu-monitor

Behavior

  1. Run nvidia-smi to get current GPU status
  2. Display a clean summary table:
    • GPU ID, Name, Memory (used/total), Utilization %, Temperature
    • Running processes on each GPU
  3. Identify which GPUs are free (< 1GB memory used)
  4. Identify which GPUs are running experiments (check for python/torchrun processes)
  5. If --server is provided, SSH to remote server first

Output Format

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
