economic-reasoning

economic-reasoning is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from XiaoLuoLYG/GOD. It costs 36 tokens per session (233 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A decision-making guide for EconomySpace, a simulated environment where agents have money, jobs, products, prices, and taxes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect finances, compare products and prices, decide whether to buy, find work, trade, or invest, and record the reasoning.
Why use it?
It helps an agent compare costs and benefits when its available money or financial conditions affect what it should do.

About the project

GOD is a control room for observing and directing societies of language-model agents running in simulated worlds. It lets researchers inspect replays, question individual agents, alter future events, reset simulations, and export experiments for reuse. The catalogue entries are skills and agents for operating and investigating these simulations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.00233
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00117
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00047
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00023

Security

Grade A, and why

economic-reasoning scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/economic_reasoning.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Economic Reasoning

Provides economic reasoning capabilities when the agent operates in an EconomySpace environment.

What It Does

  1. Analyzes the agent's financial state (currency, income, consumption)
  2. Evaluates trading and employment opportunities based on cost-benefit analysis
  3. Records economic decisions and reasoning as cognition memory

When To Activate

  • Observation contains financial information (currency, prices, income)
  • Agent needs to make economic decisions (buy, sell, work, invest)
  • Tax or policy changes affect the agent's financial situation

Data Available via Environment

The EconomySpace environment provides these tools:

  • get_person(agent_id) — current financial state
  • get_all_products() — available products and prices
  • buy_product(agent_id, product_name, quantity) — purchase
  • find_job(agent_id) — find employment
Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
