Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00086 | $0.00842 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00043 | $0.00421 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00017 | $0.00168 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00084 |
Grade A, and why
xmake-addons scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 85 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Xmake Addons
An addon extends xmake itself: plugins (new commands), rules, toolchains, project templates, lua modules and includes files. It is installed once per user, not per project.
::: warning
Addons need xmake from the dev branch (they are newer than v3.1.0). Before it, the same
role was played by xmake plugin --install, which only handles plugins.
:::
Install and manage
xmake addon --install <name> # from the repository index
xmake addon --install github:user/repo # from github, `#branch` is supported
xmake addon --install https://github.com/u/r.git # from any git url
xmake addon --install /path/to/my-addon # from a local directory
xmake addon --install xmake-repo@serial-tools # from a specific repository
xmake addon --list # installed + available addons
xmake addon --search serial # search the repositories
xmake addon --remove serial-tools
xmake addon --remove --all
xmake addon --upgrade # upgrade what the current project declares
--force removes an addon even if other addons depend on it, -y skips the confirmations.
Use an addon in a project
Declare it in xmake.lua, xmake installs it automatically when the project is loaded and
records the resolved version in xmake-addons.lock next to it:
add_addons("esp32-devel") -- any version
add_addons("esp32-devel 1.0.x") -- a version range
Then reference its payloads. Addon payloads are namespaced, so two addons never clash:
includes("@addon/esp32-devel/board") -- an includes file of the addon
target("blink")
add_rules("@addon/esp32-devel/app") -- a rule of the addon
set_toolchains("@addon/esp32-devel/esp32") -- a toolchain of the addon
import("@addon.serial-tools.serial") -- a module of an addon (dots, not slashes)
| Reference | Points at |
|---|---|
@addon/<name>/<rule|toolchain|includes> |
a namespaced payload, used by the project apis |
@addon.<name>.<module> |
a lua module of an addon, used by import() |
@self.<module> |
a module of the addon which owns the running script |
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

xmake-addons is a skill published in the GitHub repository xmake-io/xmake-skills (24 stars, last pushed 19d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 86 tokens to every session and 842 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
