webapp-building

webapp-building is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from XyrusCode/ai-sync. It costs 85 tokens per session (1,633 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A local workflow for building modern React web apps with TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui. It produces a plain local project that can be run and previewed on the machine.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to initialize and build React websites or applications, add UI components, and create a local production build.
Why use it?
It provides a repeatable starting structure for apps with interactive interfaces and complex state.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00085 $0.01633
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00653
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00327
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00163

Security

Grade A, and why

webapp-building scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/init-webapp.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

WebApp Building — local edition

Stack: React + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui

This is the local edition of the webapp-building skill (based on the online v5 version), adapted to run on your PC instead of inside the cloud VM:

online (VM) local (this skill)
Project path fixed /mnt/agents/output/app explicit <project-dir> you pass to the script
Dependencies pre-baked node_modules copied from the image npm install from the public registry
Registration registers the app with the VM portal at localhost:8080 none — output is plain local files
Preview platform-hosted npm run dev / npm run preview on localhost
Deploy handled by the platform not handled — dist/ is a plain static site

Requirements

  • Node.js 20+ and npm (check with node --version)
  • python3 and unzip

Workflow

  1. bash <skill-dir>/scripts/init-webapp.sh <project-dir> "<website-title>" [template-name] [--no-install] — initialize the project in a directory of your choice
    • Without template-name: creates the base project (0-origin) with 40+ shadcn/ui components
    • With template-name: applies a specialized template and prints template-specific configuration notes
    • --list shows all available templates
  2. Read template-info.md in the generated project and follow its instructions
  3. Edit source code in src/ (or src/config.ts for templates)
  4. Run / build / preview locally (see below)
  5. Deliver the site as a Kimi Work Website Artifact preview (see below)

Quick Start

1. Initialize

# <skill-dir> is the directory containing this SKILL.md,
# e.g. ~/.kimi/daimon/skills/webapp-building
bash <skill-dir>/scripts/init-webapp.sh ./app "My Website"
cd ./app

Agent notes:

  • You choose the project directory. A reasonable default is ./app under the current working directory, or a path the user gives you.
  • The script refuses to write into a non-empty directory.
  • Dependencies are installed with npm install --no-audit --no-fund (requires network). If the shell tool is sensitive to long-running subprocesses, use --no-install and run npm install yourself afterwards.
  • On success the script prints the template's info.md; it is also saved as template-info.md in the project root. Read it before editing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
