prompt-find

prompt-find is a skill for Claude Code from yaleh/meta-cc. It costs 30 tokens per session (328 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A project skill that searches saved prompt templates by keywords, titles, categories, and prompt text. The templates are stored in the project's prompt library.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find matching prompt-library entries and compare their IDs, categories, relevance, and update dates.
Why use it?
It helps you locate a reusable prompt when you remember its topic but not its exact name or ID.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00328
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00164
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00066
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00033

Security

Grade B, and why

prompt-find scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

Search saved prompts under .meta-cc/prompts/library/ in the current project.

Input

Use the user's prompt as the keyword query. If the user explicitly provides terms after $prompt-find, search those terms. If no keywords are provided, show concise usage help.

Workflow

  1. Resolve the library path as .meta-cc/prompts/library/ from the current project root.
  2. If the directory does not exist, say no prompt library exists and suggest saving prompts before searching.
  3. Read every *.md file in the library.
  4. Parse YAML frontmatter when present. Prefer these fields when available:
    • id
    • title
    • category
    • keywords
    • usage_count
    • updated
  5. Score matches using keyword overlap:
    • frontmatter keywords and title: strongest signal
    • body sections such as original prompts or optimized prompt: medium signal
    • category: weak signal
  6. Sort matches descending by score.
  7. Present a compact table with ID, category, score, title, and updated date when available.
  8. If no entries match, say no matching prompts were found and suggest trying broader keywords.

Output

Keep output concise. Do not print full prompt bodies in this skill; tell the user to use $prompt-show <id> for details.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

prompt-find is a skill published in the GitHub repository yaleh/meta-cc (21 stars, last pushed 20d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 30 tokens to every session and 328 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks the agent to reveal its instructions). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
