brevix-stats

brevix-stats is a skill for Claude Code from Yash-Koladiya30/brevix. It costs 38 tokens per session (219 once invoked), scanned C, original, MIT.

A local report for Brevix, a tool that reduces the size of text sent to AI models. It reads saved statistics and shows tokens, characters, estimated cost savings, and a breakdown by mode.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to display Brevix savings in the shell or reset the saved statistics.
Why use it?
It gives you a quick view of how much text and estimated money Brevix has saved without opening its statistics file.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.00219
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00110
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00044
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00022

Security

Grade C, and why

brevix-stats scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

Brevix Stats

Display the user's compression savings.

Workflow

  1. Run brevix stats in the shell
  2. Pass through the output as-is — it is already terse
  3. If brevix CLI is not installed, instruct the user to install it:
    pip install brevix

    or via the install script:
    curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Yash-Koladiya30/brevix/main/install.sh | bash

Reset

If the user asks to reset stats:

brevix stats --reset

Notes

  • Stats are local-only (~/.brevix/stats.json). No telemetry, no cloud.
  • $$ saved is an estimate based on average Claude/GPT pricing (~$3 per million output tokens).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

brevix-stats is a skill published in the GitHub repository Yash-Koladiya30/brevix (4 stars, last pushed 23d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 38 tokens to every session and 219 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it C with 2 findings (downloads and executes remote code, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
