mcp-portico: Skill for Cursor

.cursor/skills/mcp-portico-analyze/SKILL.md

mcp-portico-analyze is a skill for Cursor from yashcodelabs/mcp-portico. It costs 44 tokens per session (1,925 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A skill that examines a backend code repository and creates three reviewable MCP Portico import files: an OpenAPI description, a policy file, and a review report. MCP Portico is a system for importing and managing tool interfaces.

In plain words
What is it for?
Inspecting routes, request and response schemas, authentication, permissions, file uploads, and middleware, then writing deterministic import artifacts for review.
Why use it?
It turns repository code into structured draft files without activating tools or changing a production catalogue or registry.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.01925
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00962
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00385
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00193

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-portico-analyze scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 212 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

mcp-portico-analyze

Analyze a backend repository and produce inert, deterministic, reviewable import artifacts for MCP Portico. The output feeds the standard import/validate/diff pipeline — it is never a production catalog, never a registry edit, and never an activation. AI output becomes executable only after an operator compiles and validates it, assigns backend scope and ownership, pins the catalog checksum, creates tenant connections, and publishes a validated registry snapshot.

Purpose

Inspect the repository's routes, controllers and handlers, DTOs and schemas, middleware, authentication, permissions, multipart fields, and response shapes, then emit three inert artifacts into analysis/out/ exactly as specified by docs/ai-analysis.md. Attach provenance and per-operation confidence so operators can review and gate everything.

Output contract

Write exactly these three files and nothing else:

Artifact Contents
analysis/out/openapi.yaml OpenAPI 3.2 document with a root x-mcp-portico block and a per-operation x-mcp-portico block on every operation
analysis/out/overlay.json Policy overlay v1 (validated against schemas/overlay.v1.schema.json); operation keys are the operationId values from openapi.yaml
analysis/out/review-report.json Stable, free-form review report for operators: coverage, auth, schemas, confidence, warnings

Do not write catalog.json, registry files, or any file outside analysis/out/.

Root x-mcp-portico block (openapi.yaml)

Required when importing with --ai:

{
  "x-mcp-portico": {
    "confidence": 0.85,
    "analyzer": "mcp-portico-analyze",
    "analyzerVersion": "0.1.0",
    "repo": "acme/orders-api",
    "commit": "abc123",
    "warnings": [
      { "code": "INFERRED_SCHEMA", "message": "Order schema inferred from DTO" }
    ]
  }
}

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
