flutter-base-classes

A collection of shared Flutter building blocks for entities, data objects, Cubits, states, pages, repositories, and use cases. A Cubit is a Flutter state manager that exposes state changes without events.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating Cubits, sealed states, paginated or persisted state, repositories, use cases, stream use cases, and common page classes.
Why use it?
It standardizes error handling, safe state updates, persistence, and class structure so each feature does not need to recreate them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00088 $0.00602
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00301
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00120
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00060

Security

Grade A, and why

flutter-base-classes scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Flutter Base Classes

Key rules

Cubit

  • All cubits extend BaseCubit<State> or use SafeEmitMixin. Never call raw emit() — always safeEmit() (guards against closed-cubit errors).
  • BaseHydratedCubit<S> — extends HydratedCubit<S> with SafeEmitMixin<S>. Use when state must survive process death. Only base_hydrated_cubit.dart imports hydrated_bloc.
  • EnumHydratedCubit<E extends Enum> — extends BaseHydratedCubit<E>. Eliminates duplicated fromJson/toJson for enum-based settings (theme, language). Subclass declares values, jsonKey, defaultValue.
  • States are sealed classes extending Equatable. No boolean flags in state — use separate state subclasses.
  • Cubits depend on use cases, never on repositories directly.

Use cases

  • Extend UseCase<Return, Params> or StreamUseCase<Return, Params>.
  • Use NoParams for no-argument use cases. Use a record typedef (typedef FooParams = ({String x, int y})) for multi-param.
  • File: *_usecase.dart. Class: *UseCase.

Repository

  • Use BaseRepository mixin. It provides safeCall<T>() (catches FailureException → rethrows; catches others → wraps as UnknownFailure) and mapToEntities<D,E>().
  • AppLogger injected via constructor, exposed as AppLogger get logger.

Entity / DTO

  • Entities: extend BaseEntity (or just Equatable), immutable, no fromJson. Live in domain/entities/.
  • DTOs: extend BaseDto, annotated @JsonSerializable(), expose toEntity(). Live in data/dtos/.

Paginated cubit

  • Use BasePaginatedCubit<Item> for lists with load-more. States: PaginatedInitial, PaginatedLoading, PaginatedLoaded, PaginatedEmpty, PaginatedError.

Co-load with

  • flutter-architecture — how base classes fit into clean-arch layers
  • flutter-di — cubits as registerFactory
  • flutter-networkBaseRepository.safeCall catches FailureException
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

flutter-base-classes is a skill published in the GitHub repository yendangn/flutter-app-builder (5 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 88 tokens to every session and 602 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
