flutter-design-system

flutter-design-system is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from yendangn/flutter-app-builder. It costs 64 tokens per session (634 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for building a shared Flutter UI library with reusable components, design tokens, themes, examples, and visual tests. Design tokens are named values such as colors, spacing, and text sizes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to export Figma tokens to Dart, create Widgetbook component examples, add golden image tests, define brand themes, and enforce shared-component rules.
Why use it?
It keeps multiple screens or brands visually consistent and makes intentional UI changes easier to review.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00064 $0.00634
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00317
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00127
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00063

Measured 5d ago against content hash 016afa56624c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

flutter-design-system scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Key rules

  • Figma → JSON → Dart token pipeline: export design tokens from Figma Style Dictionary → run codegen → output app_colors.dart, app_spacing.dart, app_typography.dart. Tokens are the single source of truth.
  • ThemeExtension<T> for brand-specific tokens that ThemeData doesn't cover natively (custom semantic colors, brand radius, etc.).
  • Widgetbook: one @WidgetbookUseCase per component variant. Knobs for all configurable properties.
  • Golden tests: one golden per component state (default, hover, disabled, error). Run flutter test --update-goldens when intentional visual changes happen.
  • Component governance: new shared widgets require a Widgetbook entry + golden test before merging.
  • Multi-brand: separate AppConfig.brand enum drives which ThemeExtension values are loaded. Swap at runtime without rebuilding.
  • Never hardcode brand-specific colors in components — read from Theme.of(context).extension<BrandTokens>().

BrandTokens interface

@immutable
class BrandTokens extends ThemeExtension<BrandTokens> {
  const BrandTokens({
    required this.accentPrimary,
    required this.accentSecondary,
    required this.surfaceBrand,
    required this.borderRadius,
    required this.brandName,
  });

  final Color accentPrimary;
  final Color accentSecondary;
  final Color surfaceBrand;
  final double borderRadius;
  final String brandName;

  @override
  BrandTokens copyWith({...}) => BrandTokens(...);

  @override
  BrandTokens lerp(BrandTokens? other, double t) => BrandTokens(
    accentPrimary: Color.lerp(accentPrimary, other?.accentPrimary, t)!,
    // ...
  );
}

Usage in widgets:

final brand = Theme.of(context).extension<BrandTokens>()!;
Container(color: brand.accentPrimary, ...);

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
