flutter-di

flutter-di is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from yendangn/flutter-app-builder. It costs 76 tokens per session (467 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for wiring services and other dependencies into a Flutter app using dependency injection, which supplies objects where they are needed instead of creating them everywhere.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to register storage, networking, databases, repositories, use cases, Cubits, and feature-specific services with getIt.
Why use it?
It keeps third-party packages behind app-owned interfaces and makes service lifetimes, registration order, and test replacements easier to control.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00076 $0.00467
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00187
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00093
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00047

Security

Grade A, and why

flutter-di scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Key rules

Wrapper rule (non-negotiable)

Every third-party package is wrapped behind an app-owned interface. The interface lives in core/. The implementation (*_impl.dart) is the only file that imports the third-party package. Everything else depends on the interface.

core/logging/app_logger.dart ← interface
core/logging/logger_impl.dart ← only file that imports `package:logger/logger.dart`

Composition-root rule

getIt registrations happen only in:

  • lib/src/core/di/service_locator.dart (app-level)
  • lib/src/features/<feature>/di/<feature>_module.dart (feature-level)

Never call getIt.register* inside a widget, page, cubit, or repository.

Registration order (service_locator.dart)

  1. Config (AppConfig)
  2. Logging (AppLogger)
  3. Storage (SecureStorage, KeyValueStore)
  4. Network (DioClient, ApiClient)
  5. Database (AppDatabase, DAOs)
  6. Core services (Auth, Connectivity, Sync, Push, Permissions, Analytics…)
  7. Repositories
  8. Use cases
  9. Cubits / BLoCs (registerFactory — never singleton)
  10. Theme + Localization

Lifetimes

  • registerLazySingleton — services, repositories, data sources, API clients
  • registerFactory — cubits, BLoCs (new instance per page)
  • registerSingleton — early-init objects (logger, config)

Test override

getIt.allowReassignment = true;
getIt.registerSingleton<MyService>(FakeMyService());

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
