What is codex-history-ingest?

A knowledge-import tool that reads your past Codex CLI conversations and turns useful findings into pages in a Logseq wiki, a personal note-taking system.

Use it to review previous Codex work, recover solutions and decisions, and add those insights to an existing Logseq knowledge base.

It saves you from searching through old coding sessions and manually copying the parts that remain useful. It can also avoid processing session files that were already imported.

Codex History Ingest — Conversation Mining for Logseq

REQUIRED: Invoke llm-wiki skill first for Logseq syntax and file format rules.

You are extracting knowledge from the user's past Codex sessions and distilling it into the Logseq wiki. Session logs are rich but noisy: focus on durable knowledge, not operational telemetry.

This skill can be invoked directly or via the wiki-history-ingest router (/wiki-history-ingest codex).

Before You Start

Read ~/.logseq-wiki/config to get LOGSEQ_VAULT_PATH and CODEX_HISTORY_PATH (default to ~/.codex if unset)
Read wiki/_manifest.json at the vault root to check what has already been ingested
Read wiki/_master-index.md at the vault root to understand what the wiki already contains

Ingest Modes

Append Mode (default)

Check wiki/_manifest.json for each source file. Only process:

Files not in the manifest (new session rollouts, new index files)
Files whose modification time is newer than ingested_at in the manifest

Use this mode for regular syncs.

Full Mode

Process everything regardless of manifest. Use after wiki-rebuild or if the user explicitly asks for a full re-ingest.
