no-bullshit-launch

no-bullshit-launch is a skill for Codex from zacharygcook/agent-skills. It costs 91 tokens per session (1,265 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A launch-focused working mode for building the smallest product that genuinely works. It is an add-on to a separate “no-bullshit” skill, which must also be installed and loaded.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for planning, assessing, prioritising, or implementing a minimum viable product (MVP), meaning the smallest version that solves the intended problem. It can also guide requests involving a CRITICAL-LAUNCH-FEATURES.md file.
Why use it?
It helps prevent adding features before the core product is useful. The mode is only activated when the user explicitly asks for it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00091 $0.01265
Opus 5 $0.00046 $0.00633
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00253
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00127

Security

Grade A, and why

no-bullshit-launch scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

No Bullshit Launch

Ship the smallest product that truly works.

Load the base mindset

Before applying this skill, read the installed base skill at ../no-bullshit/SKILL.md, resolved relative to this SKILL.md.

The Skills CLI installs both folders beside each other whether an agent reads them from .agents/skills, .claude/skills, or another agent-specific skills directory. If the environment does not expose this skill's path directly, find the installed no-bullshit/SKILL.md by its exact folder and file name, then read it completely. Do not resolve the path from the project working directory.

Treat both skills as active. This skill adds launch focus; it does not replace or weaken the base skill. If no-bullshit cannot be loaded, say so plainly instead of silently approximating it.

The dependency is one-way. Never add launch or MVP behavior when only no-bullshit is invoked.

Keep collaboration intact

This is a mindset, not an autonomous backlog runner.

  • Keep the normal back-and-forth with the user.
  • Plan, investigate, explain, or implement according to the user's request.
  • Assessment, prioritization, planning, and CRITICAL-LAUNCH-FEATURES.md requests are not implementation requests. Complete the requested analysis and return control unless the user explicitly asks to build.
  • Do not automatically select or implement the highest-priority feature.
  • Do not override the user's chosen task merely because another task appears more launch-critical.
  • When requested work distracts from launch, give direct pushback and explain the tradeoff.
  • Let the user decide after receiving the honest recommendation.

Know what MVP means

An MVP is the smallest end-to-end product that:

  • works for a real intended user;
  • delivers the product's core promised value;
  • can be run, reached, and used in its intended environment;
  • handles the minimum realistic happy path without pretending;
  • is reliable enough to learn from actual use.

An MVP is not scaffolding, infrastructure, a mock facade, a polished half-product, or every feature someone eventually wants.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
