docs

docs is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from zackbart/connecta. It costs 1 tokens per session (977 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A connection to Google Docs for reading and editing documents. Google Docs is Google's online word-processing service.

In plain words
What is it for?
Opening a document from its URL or ID, reading its rendered text, and making edits; document search is not included.
Why use it?
It lets an agent update known documents while keeping access limited to documents shared with the signed-in person.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00001 $0.00977
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00391
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00195
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00098

Security

Grade A, and why

docs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (fixtures.ts, index.ts, provider.test.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 85 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Google Docs usage

Reads and edits Google Docs as the signed-in person through Workspace delegation; it cannot search or list documents.

Connection purpose:

Whose documents

Every call acts as the Workspace account deployment config maps the caller to, and reaches exactly the documents Drive shares with that person. No argument names an account. A call with none mapped fails auth_required; only an operator can change the mapping.

Finding a document

There is no search or list tool. Take the id from a docs.google.com URL (the part after /d/), from the person, or from a Google Drive connection's file search. A failure on an id may mean it does not exist or is not shared with this person; Google does not say which.

Reading

  • get_document renders every tab as markdown-ish text: headings, lists, links, tables as pipe rows, footnotes after the body, images and other embeds as bracketed markers. Headers, footers, floating images, and comments are not rendered; a tab's notRendered names any it holds, and suggestion_marks there means the text mixes unmarked suggested insertions and deletions in (read with suggestions to preview). Text past maxChars (shared across tabs) ends with a marker; pass tabId to read one tab.
  • Before an index-based edit, read with withIndexes: true and target an element's startIndex/endIndex. A long document's rows page with page.nextCursor; send maxChars: 0 on later pages, and start over if revisionId changed between them. Indexes are UTF-16 code units and shift after every edit. Keep revisionId and pass it as requiredRevisionId, so an edit against a document someone else has changed fails conflict with nothing applied; re-read and recompute. Indexes from a suggestions preview (accepted/rejected) are not valid for edits.
  • raw: true returns Google's document resource for the tabs instead of the rendering — styles, headers, footers, named ranges, list and segment ids that batch_update_document requests may need. It is large: pass tabId, and call it directly rather than inside execute_code, which carries at most 256 KiB per result.
  • The same holds for a maxChars above the default: a long rendering can pass here and still be refused inside execute_code, even when the program would only measure it. Read it with a direct call_tool, paged with connecta.result, or read one tab at a time.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

docs is a skill published in the GitHub repository zackbart/connecta (0 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 1 tokens to every session and 977 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-08.
