slides

slides is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from zackbart/connecta. It costs 1 tokens per session (1,530 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for reading, creating, and editing the signed-in person's Google Slides decks. Google Slides is Google's online presentation service, and access is limited to decks that person can open.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect presentations and make changes to decks available through the connected Google account.
Why use it?
It helps an agent locate the right deck and read its slide text, notes, and image or chart descriptions without guessing a deck ID.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00001 $0.01530
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00612
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00306
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00153

Security

Grade A, and why

slides scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (fixtures.ts, index.ts, provider.test.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 118 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Google Slides usage

Acts as the signed-in person in Google Slides through Workspace delegation: read, create, and edit the decks they can open.

Connection purpose:

Whose decks

Every call acts as the Workspace account deployment config maps the caller to, and reaches exactly the decks that person can open. No argument names an account. A call with none mapped fails auth_required; only an operator can change the mapping. A deck the person cannot see and one that does not exist fail alike — Google does not say which.

Finding a deck

Slides cannot list or search decks; that is Google Drive's job. Take the id from a Drive search or from a URL (/presentation/d/<id>/).

Reading

  • get_presentation returns each slide's text in reading order (top to bottom, then left to right), speaker notes, and alt text for images, videos, and charts. Empty placeholders are listed with their id and type; lines and other empty shapes are counted in omittedElements. index is 0-based, the numbering create_slide takes.
  • Nothing is cut without a way back. Text past maxCharsPerSlide, or past what one result can carry (about 192 KB), ends with a marker, and its element's textCursor (the slide's notesCursor for notes) is a get_page cursor that continues from the cut. A slide too crowded to list whole gives elementsNotShown and an elementsCursor.
  • get_page reads any page by objectId — a slide, a layout (its placeholders' types and indexes, for placeholderIdMappings), a master, a notes page (notesPageId), or the notes master (notesMasterId) — listing every element, groups opened, and continuing long text across pages from page.nextCursor.
  • list_layouts lists masters and their layouts; get_presentation previews them, and layoutsCursor continues where the preview stops.
  • raw: true returns Slides' own JSON: get_presentation a page of slides, get_page the page and its top-level elements. One too large for a result is named (rawNotShown) or sent in rawJson chunks; join the chunks' json in order and parse.
  • Every cursor is bound to the deck and the revision it was read at. A conflict on a cursor means the deck changed: start again without one. A page may hold fewer rows than limit; follow page.nextCursor.
  • get_slide_thumbnail returns a link, never the image. The link opens as this person for about 30 minutes; do not share it.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

slides is a skill published in the GitHub repository zackbart/connecta (0 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 1 tokens to every session and 1,530 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-08.
