starting-a-new-feat

starting-a-new-feat is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from zekiriabd/SDD-Pro. It costs 104 tokens per session (1,794 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A planning workflow for defining a new software feature before implementation. It asks framing questions and routes the request into a structured feature process.

In plain words
What is it for?
Starting new capabilities, deciding whether a request is a feature or a smaller change, and preparing feature requirements for development.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of coding an unclear feature and checks whether the project has the required foundation and existing feature structure.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is python .sdd/python/sdd_scripts/sdd_state.py status --json.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00104 $0.01794
Opus 5 $0.00052 $0.00897
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00359
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00179

Security

Grade A, and why

starting-a-new-feat scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill — Starting a New FEAT in SDDPro

Auto-trigger : intention "nouvelle fonctionnalité" détectée. But : empêcher Claude de coder directement sans cadrage. Forcer le passage par /feat-generate (3-6 questions élicitor).

Décision tree

Étape 1 : vérifier l'état du projet

python .sdd/python/sdd_scripts/sdd_state.py status --json

Cas selon état détecté :

État Action
Pas de stack.md STOP. "Le projet n'est pas bootstrappé. Lancer python bootstrap.py ou /sdd-bootstrap d'abord."
stack.md OK, 0 FEAT, projet ≥ moyen (estimation ≥ 3 FEATs à venir) Proposer Phase 0 Discovery avant /feat-generate (cf. §2 ci-dessous)
stack.md OK, 0 FEAT, petit projet (1-2 FEATs) Aller direct /feat-generate <Nom>

(10-30 min)
- /sdd-help "phase 0" pour les templates
- product-brief.template.md : sections classiques (vision, personas, KPIs, hypothèses)
- prfaq.template.md : Amazon "Working Backwards" (1 page communiqué + FAQ)

Bénéfice : éviter le scope creep en FEATs parasites.

Si oui → guider vers .sdd/templates/{product-brief,prfaq}.template.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
