ffmpeg

ffmpeg is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from znlgis/opengis-skills. It costs 122 tokens per session (5,132 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A command-line tool for processing video and audio files. It can convert, cut, join, stream, inspect, and extract frames using commands and filters.

In plain words
What is it for?
For changing formats, trimming or joining clips, adjusting frame rate and size, extracting images, encoding video, and handling streams such as HLS, RTSP, and UDP.
Why use it?
It removes the need to open media in an editor for repeatable file processing. The same commands can be used in scripts, batch jobs, and continuous integration.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00122 $0.05132
Opus 5.5 $0.00049 $0.02053
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00024 $0.01026
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00513

Security

Grade B, and why

ffmpeg scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

  • 滤镜链:-vf(视频)/-af(音频)/-filter_complex(多输入),用逗号串联

# Debian / Ubuntu
sudo apt install ffmpeg

# macOS
brew install ffmpeg

# Windows(winget)
winget install Gyan.FFmpeg

# https://ffmpeg.org/download.html

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-gpl --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265
make -j$(nproc) && sudo make install

ffprobe -version
ffmpeg -hide_banner -encoders 2>/dev/null | grep -E 'libx264|libx265|aac'

ffprobe -v error -select_streams v:0 \
  -show_entries stream=width,height,r_frame_rate,codec_name,duration \
  -of default=noprint_wrappers=1 input.mp4

# JSON(便于脚本消费)
ffprobe -v error -print_format json -show_format -show_streams input.mp4

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ffmpeg is a skill published in the GitHub repository znlgis/opengis-skills (75 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 122 tokens to every session and 5,132 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-28.
