frontend-design

frontend-design is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from zszz3/AgentRecall. It costs 24 tokens per session (396 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of guidelines for building or substantially changing user interfaces, websites, dashboards, and other interactive frontends. It covers visual design, layout, responsive behavior, accessibility, and interface wording.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating or redesigning pages, dashboards, forms, toolbars, grids, and other interactive screens. It guides choices about colors, typography, spacing, components, and empty or error states.
Why use it?
It helps developers make screens clear and usable instead of relying on generic layouts. It also keeps designs consistent with an existing product and accounts for keyboard use, contrast, and reduced motion.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00024 $0.00396
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00198
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00079
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00040

Security

Grade A, and why

frontend-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Frontend Design

Create interfaces with a clear point of view instead of assembling familiar defaults.

Before coding

  1. Read the existing product and design conventions. Preserve an established system unless the task explicitly calls for a redesign.
  2. Name the audience, the screen's primary job, and one visual idea rooted in the product's subject matter.
  3. Define a compact system: 4-6 colors, type roles, spacing rhythm, layout constraints, and one signature element.
  4. Reject choices that could be pasted unchanged into an unrelated product.

Build

  • Make the real usable screen first, not a marketing page about the feature.
  • Match information density to the domain. Operational tools favor scanning, comparison, and repeated action.
  • Use established components and icon libraries already present in the repository.
  • Keep sections unframed unless an item genuinely needs a card. Do not nest cards.
  • Use responsive constraints for boards, toolbars, grids, and controls so content cannot resize or overlap them.
  • Treat copy as interface material: concrete labels, active commands, actionable errors, and useful empty states.
  • Respect keyboard focus, reduced motion, contrast, and mobile layouts.

Visual discipline

Spend visual emphasis in one place. Avoid decorative gradients, floating blobs, arbitrary oversized headings, and a palette dominated by one fashionable hue. Typography, spacing, and hierarchy should carry most of the design.

Verify

Run the application and inspect screenshots at desktop and mobile sizes. Exercise primary interactions, long labels, loading, empty, error, and selected states. Fix clipping, overlap, blank canvases, unintended layout shifts, and inaccessible controls before reporting completion.

Output

Deliver working code consistent with the repository, then report the implemented behavior and verification performed. Do not narrate obvious visual features inside the product UI.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
