RequirementsScanner

RequirementsScanner is an agent for Claude Code from attilaszasz/sdd-pilot. It costs 20 tokens per session (660 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A specification checker that finds unclear or missing details in a feature request and creates a ranked list of questions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review product or technical specifications and produce machine-readable clarification questions.
Why use it?
It exposes uncertainty before development starts, reducing misunderstandings about behavior, data, integrations, and operational needs.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00020 $0.00660
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00330
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00132
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00066

Security

Grade A, and why

RequirementsScanner scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 68 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Task

Identify high-impact ambiguity and produce prioritized clarification questions.

Inputs

Specification file path and ambiguity-audit heuristics.

Execution Rules

Score uncertainty by impact and return machine-readable outputs only.

Output Format

Return a single JSON block with coverage status and question queue.

  1. Read .github/skills/clarification-strategies/SKILL.md for Ambiguity Audit Patterns.
  2. Read spec at SpecPath. Detect spec_type from frontmatter (default: product).
  3. Scan for ambiguities across:
    • Functional Scope: Product→undefined flows, vague terms; Technical→undefined capabilities, migration, compatibility; Operational→undefined deploy/recovery behavior.
    • Domain & Data Model: Product/Technical→missing entities, fields, relationships; Operational→missing environment/resource/ownership concepts.
    • Interaction & Flow: Product→missing UX steps, error states; Technical→missing workflow/validation steps; Operational→missing operator/promotion/runbook flow.
    • Non-Functional: Missing performance, reliability, scale, observability targets.
    • Integration: Unclear external dependencies, interfaces, contracts, environment deps.
    • Edge Cases: Rate limits, partial failures, rollback, concurrency, degraded modes, recovery.
    • Terminology: Domain-specific terms used without definition. If 2+ undefined domain terms detected and no Glossary section exists, flag as a finding.
  4. Generate 3–8 questions prioritized by Impact × Uncertainty.
    • Focus on material impact (architecture, data model, complexity).
    • Skip trivial copy-editing.
    • For technical/operational specs: prioritize capability boundaries, validation gaps, integration uncertainty.
  5. Return a single JSON block:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

RequirementsScanner is an agent published in the GitHub repository attilaszasz/sdd-pilot (95 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 660 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
