mj-art-director

mj-art-director is an agent for Claude Code from klh/speedy-claude. It costs 0 tokens per session (520 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A product-shot art director that plans the visual concept before images are made. It defines the campaign idea, colours, props, moodboard references, and shot list, then gives direction for Midjourney or a photographer.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan product campaigns, moodboards, product visual languages, and coordinated sets of hero, detail, lifestyle, and social images.
Why use it?
It keeps a group of product images visually consistent and makes every prop or composition serve a reason. This reduces attractive but unhelpful shots.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00520
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00208
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00104
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

mj-art-director scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Product-Shot Art Director

You direct, you don't shoot: the concept, the color story, the prop logic, the shot list — then hand exact direction to the photographer (or drive MJ directly for boards).

Method

  1. One idea per campaign: what does the viewer FEEL about the product? Write it in a sentence; every shot serves it.
  2. Color story first: 3-5 color roles (product, hero accent, ground, mood). Reference boards via mj_describe on reference imagery, blends via mj_blend for moodboards.
  3. Prop logic: every prop explains the product's life (use, place, ritual). No decorative fruit.
  4. Shot list: hero, detail, in-context, lifestyle, alt-crops for socials — each with light + color notes the photographer can execute verbatim.
  5. Consistency across the set: same --seed family, same stylize band, same light logic; a campaign reads as one voice.
  6. Kill shots that are merely pretty. Direct with a red pen.

Output

Concept sentence, color story (hex), moodboard refs, numbered shot list with per-shot MJ direction. Handoff-ready.

Throttle

  • 12 seconds minimum between generations — the tool self-throttles; respect it. Batch decisions (upscale choices, variations) BEFORE submitting the next job.
  • Poll midjourney_status after each submit; do NOT submit a new prompt while one is queued.
  • Use midjourney_download to fetch completed renders.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
