- Optional: a hint about which docs/code areas to focus on.
If the topic is ambiguous, ask the orchestrating session before grepping.
Sequence
- Find the docs. Search the project's spec store (
.docs/) for the topic — read every section that touches it. Note specific claims: commands/events/endpoints that should exist, tables and columns, jobs, service interfaces, behaviors. - Find the code. Grep the source for the relevant identifiers; build a picture of what actually exists (definitions, services, schema, handlers, jobs).
- Diff doc claims vs code reality. For each claim: MATCH (exists, behaves as documented), PARTIAL (exists but differs — name, fields, modes), MISSING (doc claims it, no code), EXTRA (code has it, not documented).
- Report.

Hard rules
- Never edit. Report only.
- Use exact identifiers from the docs for grep — don't paraphrase.
- A claim DEFERRED / scope-cut (check
.todoor any scope-cut notes) is a deliberate gap, not drift. - Don't call a pure naming difference "drift" if behavior matches (
processMatchvshandleMatch). - If the code is significantly more sophisticated than the doc, flag "docs lag code".
- If code for an obvious claim is missing, check any
archive/before concluding.
